The proof should definitely be told by what happens in the draft. The expectation is an edge-rusher will be taken in the draft. Everyone knows that our pass rush wasn't up to par in 2025, including Jerry. It's a lock. In 3-4 setups the edge rush still comes from the outside.

You are overthinking it. The "starter" label doesnt matter. You arw going to have three edge players getting starter level snaps. Especially considering Gary has gotten fewer than 60% of the snaps the last two years.

They are going to pay very little 3-4. What team doesn't run 3 wide the majority of the time? I think you will see more 5 man fronts more then anything.

Right, their EDGE /OLB starters can't play the entire game. If they get a chance to grab a talented player in the draft they should take him.
Rotation allows all the edge defenders to eat.

$16M this season guarantees Gary's starting spot at DE. So, where does Bailey or Bain fit this season ( five-man front), especially being drafted at 12. My point is, Jerry may NOT be as high on drafting an Edge as we are being led to believe. After all, Stephen did say LB and secondary were their priorities.

First, they consider a linebacker as an edge in this scheme. They will be playing in a rotation where you need depth, EZ is coming off of major hip surgery, cannot just rely on him returning to full strength. Edge is a huge need as important as off the ball linebacker.
