It seems to me that a lot of disagreement over how the Cowboys are doing stems from people seeing the talent level differently. Personally I think we are top 5 in talent, but I wanted to see what everybody else thinks.

I think we're top 10, but lower in the top 10. I think our coaching leaves a lot to be desired though.

top 15 but talent is nothing without desire... this team is bottom 5 when it comes to desire. They celebrate after every play but when it comes to stopping a last minute drive they are are "Celebrated" out.

I also asked because I'm trying to see if there's a correlation between fan expectations and fans perception of talent. Have you been frustrated this season, or are you just happy with each individual win?

Top 5 with everyone healthy and a different head coach.

Players Talent is Top 5, especially on offense. How else would a bottom feeder coach keep his team so close in games? These coaches are riding this talent and essentially pissing it away. #1 Offense has little to nothing to do with the coaches, it's the talent. Our talent almost makes up for the lack of discipline, maturity, and leadership but not quite enough to win those big games...

This is easy. Top 15 (emphasis on 15).. Middle of the pack.

just the pretty boy starters that most fans talk about or the roster?

this team is top 15 in talent amongst the top 40 or so spots on the roster but hardly elite. we have zero #1 WRs and our 2nd best pass rusher is the nose tackle.

i have seen plenty of coaching comments which again just points to how silly fans are. garrett and wade may both below in the 20s as head coaches but wade is a top 10 DC and Coach D is a top 5 special teams coach. Campo is top notch with DBs and Ray Sherman and Hudson Houck are top 10 at their respective positions as well. This isn't an elite overall staff but it isn't close to bottom 10.

I think Dallas isn't a top 10 talent team... People need to be honest and say they are a middle of the road talented team.

They are playing almost exactly as I had expected. Especially Flozell Adams and Spencer.

Overall, this team plays undisciplined, sloppy football and I do not see that changing. Poor tackling, unmotivated at times and penalties out the wazoo. It will catch up with them.

I think people place too much emphasis on how much overall talent this team has as opposed how good of a "team" the Cowboys are.

As long as you have talent at a few key positions, if your roster consist of solid players at the other positions, you have a chance in this league.

I don't believe the Super Bowl winners during the Free Agency Era have been stacked at every position. I think they have extremely good players at the 2-4 important position, solid players at the other positions and good coaching.

Is there anyone that argue that Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin, Tom Coughlin or any other proven Coach and Organization wouldn't be successful with the Cowboys roster?

The problem with the Cowboys is the lack of leadership and poor coaching.

We could probably use another playmaker on defense, but overall a really good Head Coach, who is allowed to Coach and hold people accountable, like the few I mentioned would probably be doing a lot better than Wade Phillips.
