I think most of use have talked about the best QBs, WRs, RBs and some other skill positions on the Cowboys all time list. However we don't hear or talk too much about the DBs (both Safeties and Cornerbacks).

So List your top 5-10 All Time DBs for the Cowboys. You can do all CBs, you can do all Safeties or you can split them up evenly (5 each) or if you want just the top ten DBs mix whether Safety or CB.

One Caveat though...No Deion. It is not a matter of liking or not liking Deion it is a matter of making the list a little more difficult and not having a given #1...plus he was a hired gun that was only here a few years.

So Other than Deion...make your list and remember that Deion is a given so don't use his name.

Go.

What is the criteria for best DB? For example, the best DB the Cowboys have ever had who actually started with the Cowboys or the best DB who was ever on the team? The best DB who ever wore a uniform, outside of Deion was probably Herb Adderley but he only played three seasons in Dallas. Most of his HOF seasons were in Green Bay. Without a doubt, IMO, he would have been the best, possibly even with Deion included but would he be considered as "for the Cowboys"?

2. Charlie Waters
3. Darren Woodson
4. Everson Walls
5. Kevin Smith

Criteria is whatever you wanted it to be. I just did not include Deion as I wanted answers being Deion being number one.:D

As regards safety a blanket covers Green, Harris, Waters and Woody- they were all great.

CB: Green, Renfro, Kevin Smith(pre injury) of the non deion candidates

Thanks. I didn't really put them in order and had to do something else before I could finish typing in Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters.

I would put Michael Downs in over Thomas Everett. Everett only played 2 seasons in Dallas. Even Brock Marion and George Teague played for Dallas longer.

Drive by doesn't get any love? I loved that dudes swagger and thought him and Woody were a great duo at safety
