Rate the last movie you saw

The Long Walk (along with The Stand) is my absolute favorite Stephen King book. It's a completely compelling, page-turner masterpiece. I haven't seen the movie yet because I worry that it can't possibly match how good the book is.

For those who aren't familiar with the book, maybe it will be too dismal, probably. I highly recommend reading the book, although once you've seen the movie first, I'm not sure how that will play.
My faves of his are the Stand and the Talisman.
On a side note, if you like the stand you might like Swan Song by Robert McCammon....some interesting ideas in that one.

Fantastic Four first steps

5.5. On a 1 to 10 scale ......

Slightly above average and very disappointing to me.
I still cannot get over No Military resistance forces involved at all...
I think your score might be generous. The acting was lifeless, plot was terrible, and it was too long. It looked great, though. I love what they did with the futuristic 60's aesthetic. Aside from that, it was bad. This Reed Richards is the dumbest genius I've ever seen. All of his elaborate schemes get dismantled in literally seconds.

Swan Song is great. I put it right up there with The Stand and The Road as the top post apocalyptic books. Shame we haven't got a movie of it yet even though it has been planned several times.

Superman

6/10 - Cheesy. Seemed to make a mockery of Supes. Definitely made a mockery of Supergirl and Krypto. Hawkgirl is severely lame. What they did with the Els was nothing short of blasphemy. I didn't even like the Kents. John turned out better in his heart to heart, but not enough.

I assume this was supposed to be a different universe, which is why I didn't give it a 4/10.

The one thing I really liked was the casting choice and writing of Lois.

Tried to be funny, but wasn't.
Yeah, im not sure how to grade ot
I would say decent, maybe 6.5/10

Yeah, gotta be honest, just what I saw in the commercials for it looked dreadful, like completely silly and ridiculous with flying dogs and dopey looking D-grade sidekicks. I'll probably never see it. But with superhero movies, if it's not Nolan's Dark Knight movies, I'm usually not watching anyway.

It is a so so movie. But I do like the guy who plays the crappy dad...loved him as louis litt on suits.

Second movie he has done that was just not good, the other one was the In the lost Lands

Meh movie. The fire scenes are cool but it was just kid of meh.

Was really hoping this would be better than it was. Even for cheesy comedy, it just did not live up to expectations.

For a few "scary/horror" ones that are basically B movies

Better than the original ones. But still a b movie with its flaws.

Basically it is the Strangers Movies. If you liked those, this one will be about the same. They are cheesy and stupid but I do like them.

I liked the concept of this one. However if it would have had a bigger budget, better actors and all of that with a few changes it would have been really good. But as it is, still creepy but so many flaws.

Him 5/10

It was watchable, but barely. Marlon Wayans is actually a good dramatic actor. The movie was a mess, but had some cool visual effects. The ending was just ridiculous.

Tron Ares - Awful/10.

I know these movies are basically just there to look (and sound in the case of Legacy) cool, and the story isn't given much thought, but this was a major chore to sit through.

Anything that looked cool was already in the trailer. The characters suck. The story is more ridiculous and nonsensical than the first two, and even the music was a total miss. It was like they thought they were making Blade Runner and going for this super noir atmospheric music and it just did not fit at all.

Leto was fine, considering the poor material he was working with.

Thanks for the post. This confirms what I suspected. All eye candy, but little substance.

I'm sure it was filmed with an eye towards cashing in from world markets, like China, that I would think tend to go for any banal story, with big action scenes...

Let's see what the world receipts are for The Mouse.

The original was terrible, not sure why they spent so much rebooting it over the years.

Was not impressed with it either other than the visuals.
The idea behind it was kind of cool but the rest of it was a hot mess.

The original was not all that great. They tried to make it visually spectacular but even at that time it kind of looked really cheesy.

Now others may disagree with me, and that is ok, But I actually liked the last one...Tron Legacy. It still had problems but I still enjoyed it and think it is miles better than the first one and this last one.
