Rather wildcard road game or home playoff game?

I've been debating all week if I rather a road playoff game against possibly Atlanta or New Orleans or have a home playoff game to Seattle, Philly or Detroit.

I actually think Philadelphia winning this Sunday is statistically better for our playoff chances. Why?
  • Our chances of getting wild card are much better. Even if Eagles lose, they will almost guaranteed have all the tie breakers over us. (Division record and conference record) So that basically puts all the pressure on Cowboys to win last 3 games. They will have to be a game up on Eagles. And if Eagles beat cowboys next week, they basically have no shot of winning division even if Eagles lose sunday to Seahawks. Puts way too much pressure on us winning all our games to get the division.
  • We have more leeway if Seattle loses. Even if we only win 1 more game, the Seahawks won't be able to lose another game. They'll have to go 11-5. And they still have games against 49ers, Rams, and Cardinals.
  • We have tie breaker over Seattle, who we are fighting the last playoff spot with. So that means they have to be a game up on us, as long as there isn't a 3 way tie. But I don't think there will be because:
  • The Lions will take one of the wild care spots. There last 4 games are a joke. They won't lose more then 1 game in final 4.
  • We are better on the road anyway. And we get the opportunity to possibly play a team with a losing record in first round.
Obviously I am rooting for us to win all 3 of our games, and we can get first round bye. But I am rooting for Seahawks sunday because it gives us better shot of making playoffs. Gives us more leeway. This make sense? What you guys think?

You have to be much more confident with playing on the road. With the exception of Green Bay. I'm not sure anyone will be able to go up there and win.

#roadwarriors

we proved we can win in seattle.
the niners aren't that great
detroit is shaky
arizona without palmer is very beatable. in fact, they may lose 3 of next 4 an miss out.
GB very tough
eagles very tough.

Maybe it is better to avoid the HFD (Home Field Disadvantage) the Cowboys have.

Again, the Cowboys have played mostly strong teams at home and mostly weak teams on the road.

I still think they end up 10-6 and out of the playoffs. Could they go 11-5 and miss playoffs?

Say Philly, GB, Saints and Cards win division, leaving Lions, Cowboys, Seattle and 49ers for 2 spots. They all end up 11-5. Who loses out?

We have to first know which games they won and lost.

BUT....................

I think division teams - SEA and SFF - get compared first, and Seattle would probably beat the 49ers?

Then comes conference record, and DET and SEA would probably edge out DAL?

So, Lions and Seahawks in, Cowboys and 49ers out?

A lot of people in here should read "Fooled by Randomness."

Home playoff game is the obvious answer.

The only way I MAYBE consider it is if we would go play the NFC South winner.

I dont care what the road win to home loss ratio is. You take home playoff division winner.
