the formula is (Comp% + ((Pass TD+Run TD)/(Int+Fumbles lost)) + ((Passing yards + Running Yards - Sack Yards)/(Pass Att + Run att + Sacks + total Fumbles))/3

it takes every single play the QB controls the ball into account and measures 3 things.
1) how effeciantly they moved the ball
2) how well they moved the ball
3) how well they protected the ball

The problem with your formula is that as it stands, you're giving the same weight to each variable. Certain variables are going to have a much greater variance than other variables, thus giving them greater weight in the overall formula. What you'd have to do is breakdown each and run variance testing and then give each variable a divisor such that each is weighted properly.

Look at the actual QB rating formula for how this is done.

the formula is (Comp% + ((Pass TD+Run TD)/(Int+Fumbles lost)) + ((Passing yards + Running Yards - Sack Yards)/(Pass Att + Run att + Sacks + total Fumbles))/3

I like it. Fumbles lost are just as costly as INT's, rushing TD's just as important as TD passes, etc.

What is Romo's raw number though?

hahaha my bad I prob should of stated I got this from the skins board first when I posted it. I just thought it would make for good discussion over on here. Its pretty interesting though even though the skins still show their hate for Romo there's a lot more ppl over there that can be objective and still realize that Romo is the real deal which surprised me.
