Ratliff and Brooking - hope for the Defense?

For 95% of the game the D is solid. They really just need to get over the hump. We have seen it time and time again this year and last year where they just can't get that final stop. Sometimes fate, sometimes bad luck and sometimes bad play. Whatever it is they are just a tad bit short.


But.... with Ratliff and Brooking I think they have the leaders in place to get them over the hump. Now if Wade can send heat when the game is on the line... we might have something.

For this season, I still think that not having a "full-time" DC is part of the problem. When you have one guy playing two parts, HC and DC, then how can that one guy put the necessary time in on either position? Not trying to bash on Wade, but if the guy is really good, a team can get away with it. But not in this case.

I don't think that is a good excuse for Wade. We all know that Garrett handles the Offense . Wade has plenty of time to concentrate on the defense.

I honestly do not believe Phillips is distracted by the head coach responsibilities. We just are playing undisciplined football and that happened even when he had a fulltime coordinator in Stewart. But your point is taken. Having a head coach pull double duty, either as coordinator or GM as some do, it takes a special person to do both successfully and few do.

I would suggest Wade go to Coach Jerry Jones and ask him to take up some of the slack.

unfortunately as great as Brookings and Ratliff are they don't cover receivers.
They could blitz more but not sure that would help the pass defense which is in a critical state at this point.
