He hasn't exactly lit it up this year either. Maybe he's having to shoulder more of the load this year because he plays next to underachievers, but his play has been pretty pedestrian.

Fighting double teams inside and playing with a high motor for every snap has taken a toll on him. That play where he was busting his tail, chasing Rodgers and Newman ends up giving a weak shot to Rodgers and then giving him a playful tap on the helmet afterwards while Ratliff is out there gasping for air says it all.

Anyone know why Josh Brent was on the field so tonight?

Brent's actually been getting more snaps the last 3 weeks. Ratliff is having a rough season. I did see Brent split a double team, and they held Kuhn to about 8 yards. It was one of the better plays of the evening.

He can be some nice depth and a guy who spells Brent at NT but that's about it for now for him. I'd glad that JJ didn't try to re-extend him in the offseason.

He is a rotation/motor guy at DE only.

I tried to tell people Ratliff would make an awesome DE but they thought I was crazy... He's too small to be a NT, his body won't hold up. Dallas needs a real space eater.

Ratliff is a favorite of mine. And maybe its even unfair criticism but this defense relies HEAVILY on him, Ware and Spencer. They're not making nearly enough plays. I don't question there effort. But for whatever reason the plays aren't happening.

Oh stop, hes having a down year but who isnt?! everyone looks "done" this year, ARE WE GONNA CUT EVERYBODY?! ware hasnt been playing all that great this season, well hell be decent depth at least. Same for witten, someone actually mentioned putting him as second string and letting marty b start. come on guys lets not be idiots here, this season is flushed and everyone has sucked, save maybe dez.
