I've never been big on Flacco. I'll give him that awesome Super Bowl season, but it looks to me like he's coasted since.

Actually, Stash, he had a back injury and hasn't been healthy for the past three seasons.
Ironically, coming into this season he's now at full strength. I expect to see his best
season since that Super Bowl run that earned him a big contract.

Sorry, I follow a lot of Ravens games/shows/radio.

No need to be sorry. I always appreciate people sharing info and expressing their opinions. From a distance, I see a team at a crossroads, with pressure on both the head coach and quarterback to win or risk being replaced.

You nailed it. It's definitely a hot seat situation for both of them.
Also, there will be a change at GM next year. They promoted from within
the organization but he will want to make his own mark.

If I recall correctly Flacco won 5 consecutive playoff games on the road which set or tied a NFL Record.

I see him as more than a bus driver.
To be fair he's a big reason why they don't have more SB appearances/rings, especially early on in his career. I'd be labeled a Flacco hater if he was here from the start, no doubt.

Ravens Super Bowl run:

282 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs
331 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
240 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
287 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs

The myth is their defense won that Super Bowl. They averaged 31 points per game in the playoffs.

And yet, the last 2 wouldn't have happened had the Denver DB not just completed misplayed the ball long TD pass in the last 30 seconds. That's not to detract from what he did - 11 TDs and 0 INTs is nothing to sneeze at, but just to point out the fine line between winning and losing. Who knows, if the DB plays that right, Colin Kaepernick may have won a Super Bowl. Chaos theory.

He did get on that roll.
Hes also had some of the very worst playoff performances in playoff history...and still saw his team win!
He had a playoff record worst 10 QB rating in one win....you read that right.
Now that would be really nice.

Tell that to Barry Switzer.

Meh, Switzer is like a God in Oklahoma. Love him or hate him that dude could coach football. He looked like a dog and pony show here, but the dude could coach back in the day.

Barry was one of the greatest recruiters in NCAA history. Which is a common denonominator in most of the storied big name schools and their legendary coaches.

Assembling elite or an abundance of talent is the most critical virtue of great coaches. Not too many coaches consistently having much success without talent.

No doubt Ravens overall were carried by their defenses but I wouldn’t put Flacco in the same pool as Dilfer or a Hosteler. And why I describe him overall as more than a Bus Driver. That’s how I see him anyway.

I agree, he is above Dilfer, R Johnson, and those guys.
And that SB run was incredible by him. Definitely lightening in a bottle.

Ravens like going bargain basement at receiver sort of like how Dallas goes bargain basement at safety.

they could wreak havoc
Ya, and they didn't know what the hell hit them in "16" with the #4 led COWBOYS, that free riding monkey they had planted on our back got shot dead:starspin:

*the Pittsburgh game was exciting but that Baltimore game was pure footballing fan satisfaction.

I do not think John Harbaugh will ever come here he has disdain for Dallas. Not too mention he likes his owners in the owners booth not near the field talking.
