No, she's a dalmatian/cocker spaniel mix....we got her DNA tested a few years back to figure out just what the heck she is.
We thought about DNA testing a couple of ours. We have 4 that are all about 75 pounds and they're basically indoor dogs.

I absolutely love dogs. They're the best.

Fifteen years old is quite a feat for a larger dog like that. Kudos to Daisy!

Yes, 15 years is amazing for a large breed. My wife and I also have four, including a 12-year old Corgi who's been through three peri-anal hernia surgeries. Smartest dog I've ever been around. He 's the alpha around our house, even though he's "half-a-dog high and 2 dogs long". He rules the roost over a Chocolate Lab, a Border Collie (another freakishly intelligent dog), and a 9-month old Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix (who already weighs 90 pounds).

Sorry for the hijack, but I'm a sucker for anything dog-related.

Wow! You have quite a pack going there. I bet he Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix is super cool. If you got a picture of her/him, throw it up.

I have heard that Border Collie's are really smart, but I've never owned one. Corgi's are awesome too. Shoot, all dogs are.

The smartest dog I have ever had was a Golden Retriever named Shelby. She was truly like a member of the family. She wanted nothing more than to do what I wanted. She always wanted to be with me and was the best friend I have ever had. When I had to put her down (liver cancer) it completely devastated me. It was two years ago and frankly, I'm still not over it. I haven't gotten another one because I can't go through that kind of pain again. Maybe I will one day.

Anyway, I did a double no-no: Hijacked the thread and was a Debbie Downer.

Continue on!

Awesome! Really pretty dog. I bet she's a sweetie.

Shelby was a big girl. She weighed 110. She was bigger than plenty male Golden's. My Mother had Shelby's sister and she was considerably smaller. A lot shorter.

Shelby was a dream to have. I miss her daily.

Lets all show pictures of our 4 legged kids... my friends wife calls them Chogs (child dogs) :D Mine is in my sig line. And as it says she is named Dallas.

My pictures of shelby were on a computer that crashed. Makes me sick to not have any of her. She was a light colored golden though, with one small, purple spot on her tounge. Perfect shape. I had several people ask me if I wanted to breed her with their Golden because she was so well proportioned.

Now I wish I had.

Before Shelby I had a Lab/Golden mix and I named her Haley, after sir Charles. She was a really great dog too.

That is just..... abnormal :D All that matters is that she is loved right?

That was the reason for the dna testing...she had such a unique look that we finally did it out of curiosity. We've now had two of our three dogs - all mutts - tested. It's not too expensive and it settled some long-running debates in both cases.

She's actually a mid-sized dog, more a cocker spaniel size with dalmation markings, and mid-sized dogs can have pretty good life spans. So with luck we've got a couple more good years with her.

Sorry to co-opt the thread with dog talk. Maybe we need a dedicated Dog Zone. :) Here's a pic of Daisy in her younger pin-up days:
