So what do we get if Dallas signs Lewis and doesn't win a playoff game? What does your guarantee get us?
I asked that poster jokingly in he can guarantee that. the season is still 7 months away. what is your deal? It's like you come on this site to get into senseless arguements so you can say you were right. lighten up or get a hobby.

as in next season? and can you guarantee that?

Yes next season.
No, I can't guarantee that, no more than you can with him.
Then again it's the off season, we need something to pass the time.

Well, T.O and Randy Moss are about $12.9 million guaranteed over a 3 years $27 million contract and we're talking similar ages amongst the 2 WR's and Ray Lewis. So to get a marquee player like that, age involved and on a 3 year deal it looks to be between the $12-$13 million in guarantees plateau to do so.

This isn't an opinion, these are the facts on the recent signing around the league. Now, 2 other things have to be considered. (1) is a 3-4 ILB in the same pay range as a starting WR in this league and (2) will Ray Lewis impact a team like T.O and Randy Moss would during a game? (1) I'm not so sure about and (2) I am definite about, in fact even outside of games.

So if Ray wants more than $12.5 million in guarantees and 3 years $25 million I doubt this can work. The truth is, Baltimore is only 1/2 a million off on guarantees and probably off a year or so on contract length. This means that the likelyhood of Ray leaving Baltimore because of financial considerations is highly unlikely. It is also unlikely that Ray would leave Baltimore for any reason other than the finances. Ray will not be a Cowboy, I'll put $ on it. If we're willing to dish out $ like that on a 3 year deal got get Haynesworth signed long term and use that $ towards his contract.

This is the last year of the salary cap, if we truely wanted him we would backload his contract.

you can't backload and even if we did it wouldn't get him to sign because he wants his money up front.

because of the uncapped year no contract can have over 30% raises.

So for say 5 mil next year he cant go to more than 6.3+ M in 2010. While you could life the money enough eventually ot have big yearlies Ray Lewis knows that money is play money. He wants guaranteed jack.

He just turned down a 12 mil signing bonus.
