RB Jaydon Blue runs eye-popping 40-yard dash times at Texas Pro Day

Several teams have now made Jaydon Blue a Top-30 visit before the 2025 NFL Draft happens next month in April...

The 49ers as well as other teams are suddenly interested.

If the Cowboys want Jaydon Blue, they might have to take him very early, possibly even in the 1st round (trade down to #20 just before the Steelers pick at #21) while picking up an extra 2nd round pick.

I think the last Longhorn RB with that speed was Jamal Charles.
Correct.

Jamaal Charles had 4.38 speed which ties what Jaydon Blue timed at the NFL Combine while running with a partially torn groin. Yesterday, at the Texas Pro Day, Blue totally obliterated that Combine time with 40 times of 4.28 and 4.25. Blue is slightly faster than Charles. That is super fast speed for a RB.

"Jaydon Blue can't run in between the Tackles.

Jaydon Blue doesn't have Chris Johnson type of speed.

Jaydon Blue can't break tackles.

Jaydon Blue can't elude or make tacklers miss.

Jaydon Blue is not a passing game weapon.

Jaydon Blue can't fall forward for positive yards.

Jaydon Blue can't push the pile.

Jaydon Blue doesn't have the size to be a 3 down RB."

Yet, this video highlight proves every negative remark or doubts wrong...

doing it in college and doing it in the pros is a whole other matter. You run this guy between the tackles and he WILL get worn down

True.

The same was said about Tony Pollard, yet he has shown to become a very good starting RB. Jaydon Blue is similar to Tony Pollard. Use him the same way. Cowboys could definitely use another Tony Pollard.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. What is with all this 1st round talk. For me, it would be shocking if blue was taken on day 2. Round 4/5 is where he will go. People are putting way to much stock into a ballooned pro day 40 time; good grief.

Careful, youngling. You know not what you are talking about. Watch some tape.

4/5 round? SMH.

Bhayshul Tuten is definitely another RB the Cowboys should look at. I have propped up both Tuten and Jaydon Blue the past several months. Yes, Bhayshul Tuten definitely has more power, but as recently proven, Jaydon Blue has more speed. The Cowboys should target both of them. Either one would be an excellent pick up.
Tuten was the fastest back at the combine at 4.31. I suspect the speed is the same between the two. He also had a 40.5 inch vertical. I do think Blue is a better pass receiver. It will be interesting to see who goes first
Tuten is visiting the Cowboys. I think Pittsburgh wants him bad.

This is textbook strawman building.

This is Chris Johnson like. Difference is, this kid is bigger, and can run between the tackles, runs routes like a receiver too. He raised his stock. Factor in the toughness thing and this kid might be a 2nd rder now.
This kid has got so little hype.......It's been amazing. Infact a lot of prospects this year.....You really haven't heard much on.....I got a list of 8 guys....that really make me wonder what is going on with the media? It's like they are being paid to ****.

I think Blue is a talented back, but I also think he’s a complimentary back rather a featured one.

To me he’s on par with Achane and could fill the void Pollard left as a guy that can flip the field as a runner or receiver.

That said, there’s no reason to try and make him sound like something he’s not. He most definitely is not a pile mover. His strength is not between the tackles, et cetera.

Half right. Half wrong.

Agreed.

Makes me wonder if Jerry and a few other owners have paid the sports media to stay quiet about this year's RB prospects?

Supposed? No.

I simply posted claims actually said in recent months against Jaydon Blue.
Feel free to provide actual evidence of any of the following being said on this forum:

- Jaydon Blue doesn't have Chris Johnson type of speed.

- Jaydon Blue can't elude or make tacklers miss.

- Jaydon Blue is not a passing game weapon.

- Jaydon Blue can't fall forward for positive yards.

He’s a 4.38 not a 4.2 like CJ2K
