Drafted by Cowboys RB Phil Mafah Clemson

Here's an interesting factoid. I just looked up DeMarco Murray and his size when he got drafted. He was 6-1 , 220. Mafah is 6-1, almost 6-2 actually, and weighs 234. Very similar size. Runs a lot like Murray , down hill, violent. But unlike Murray, no fumbling issues. His top end speed is just barely less than Murray, but plenty fast enough. Dude was a workhorse for the Tigers. They leaned on him. Guys and gals, you gonna be thrilled we drafted him in short order. Williams could become expendable.
This will be a true preseason battle to watch. If Mafah can kick Williams off the 53, that's a huge accomplishment. You know Williams is coming in with something to prove and now has a young pup wanting his job.

Murray ran a 4.4. Musty runs a 4.6. Not comparable. Murray had tremendous burst. Mafa lacks burst.

Hey, I'm all for every player we pick, rooting hard, just don't see it here. Doubt if he makes the team.
Murray was unique for his frame. Mafah isn't that fast . I am not saying that. I'm saying the frame is very similar and the guy gives us a workhorse similar to Murray in the fact he can be a hammer. blue is the lightning rod or spark. Love the RB combination now

His start isn't fast. Second level, mid-gear is fast.

Mafah is a tough back - he will definitely hit it hard up the middle, and does have a bit of burst once he gets a head of steam going. You wish he had a bit more wiggle through the hole (he's very stiff hipped), but he can definitely contribute as a hammer. Reminds me of T.J. Duckett.
