RB rotation

Just to make something clear, I’m by no means saying I want to sub Zeke and Pollard on every other play. Zeke needs 80-85% of the carries. I just don’t want him on the sideline for an entire possession.

I absolutely hate criticism posts from know-nothing fans.

The reality is that it's ill-advised to sub play-by-play as opposed to series-by series.
-Players run 60 yards just to get in and out of the huddle w/substitutions. It's a needless toll.
-You can't run hurry-up if you sub in/out that way
-Players have no rhythm if they are pulled and swapped randomly.

Would some of you who don't understand even a little bit about football and game dynamics, tap the brakes and realize your own ignorance before you post?
After reading your post again, I don’t think I gave you sufficient credit. It might just be the dumbest I’ve ever read on here.

1). Substitutions are made on damn near every NFL play. How do those players handle running in and out of the huddle? LOL
2). We rarely run any hurry up unless it’s near the end of the half or the game. It’s just not how we generally operate.
3). Subbing players in and out of the lineup is often dependent on down and distance and the type of package you want to run.

For a person that hates ignorant posters, you might want to look in the mirror.

I absolutely hate how we use our running backs when it comes to rotation. We always send Pollard in for a full series or two, with Zeke on the bench (we’ve done the same thing in previous seasons with other backups so it’s not just a Pollard thing). I get the fact that we need to use Pollard and give Zeke some breathers, but why doesn’t the staff sprinkle it in throughout the game rather than take Zeke our for entire possessions. It’s just not very smart to keep your best player on the bench for full possessions when you generally only get 10-12 per game.
it takes players a few plays in a row to get a feel for the blocking, defense, etc. you can't just run in for one play here and there and be effective......its not madden football...its real football

I assume the team and/or Zeke feels sitting out a full possession keeps him more fresh than just sitting out an occasional play. Besides, Pollard averaged 7 yards per carry, so I didn't mind him being in for a full possession.

By the way genius, back in the early 70’s, we subbed QBs on every play for some time. Maybe you’ve heard of Staubach and Morton. Doing so with a QB was dumb, but it was done. Your argument shows YOUR ineptitude. You’re what I call football stupid.
We actually only QBs for a short time. I think it was only a game or two. Landry quickly realized that wasn't a good way to go.

He needs a defined roll. Instead the simply put him in to spell zeke.

Not really. He’s a backup RB and a specialty player. That’s his role. I know you’re one of the Zeke haters, but he’s going to get 85% of the carries, so you might as well just accept it.

Players are shuffled in and out of the lineup all the time on every single team based on sub packages, matchups, etc. I simply don’t want Zeke on the bench for an entire possession.

Because they believe RB's need reps to get a feel for how to play their opponent. Pollard was in throughout the game but his main snaps will always come in the series he gets. Otherwise he would see few snaps than he did last night.

Can you name me a NFL team that is utilizing their group of RBs in the almost perfect, idea matter that you think/hope that we would be using our own RBs ?

Very tough call because I too would like to see more of Pollard. Pollard's not helping himself when he drops wide open screen passes but I love the kid. Just tough when you're behind and possessions are so limited. As explosive as Pollard is Zeke is your "money" guy figuratively and literally. There are games where I take issue with the rotation but last not wasn't one of them. Pollard did well with his opportunities.

Another dumb comment.

stop making a fool of yourself. You’ve become too good at it. What I said about Pollard is exactly what he is. It’s what he was in college as well. Zeke is a bell cow RB. Pull your panties up and except that fact.
