I remember somebody posting a thread about where Mark Barron would be drafted if he was a part the 2010 draft. I was wondering if Sdogo or somebody could do this with Claiborne and the last two CB classes?

In this draft, which is the reality. Claiborne is a higher rated prospect than his previous counter part, Peterson was last year.

This is not just by the Cowboys but the majority of the league.

If Janoris Jenkins declared last year he may have went before Peterson and Claiborne is overall more poished and accomplished.

Peterson is darn good.....

That should explain it.

None of us ever imagined having Claiborne. We did think Peterson was a glimpse of reality.

I think Peterson is more dynamic in the return game but as a pure cover corner Mo is better

According to Mickey, our scouts had Claiborne as the highest ranked CB since Deon.

Virtually every team had Claiborne ranked as the top defensive player in the draft and he probably would have been the first defender drafted last year as well.

I've been following the draft in an almost unhealthy way since 1998. As far as CB prospects, the following guys belong in the discussion (note: this doesn't implicate the slot they were taken or how they panned out, just how highly thought of they were as prospects)...

Charles Woodson
Champ Bailey

Very close: Terence Newman, Patrick Peterson

That's it. Others like Quinton Jammer, Pac Man, DeAngelo Hall, and Joe Haden were drafted in the same ballpark as Claiborne, but were not viewed as the same level of prospect IMO.

Doubt it. At the very least teams would have been enraptured by Peterson's size/speed/athletisim and taken him ahead of Jenkins regardless. Plus even a year ago, Jenkins still wouldn't have passed all the character checks.
