Re-Draft - what I would have done

Fowler is one a 1 year deal, Kneeland is a run clogger and Sam is the most unreliable player on the roster.

DE was definitely a need.
Fair, almost every position is a need on this team. DE would be at the bottom for me. If we’re not gonna sign free agents it’s tough taking DE every year second round.

I think it's kind of funny that the BPA when we picked was a pass rusher Jalon Walker who's kind of a player without a position. His instincts aren't great as a linebacker and he doesn't have the size needed as a defensive end. He may end up being a great player at either or both spots, but it remains to be seen.

Then, we turn around and take a pass rusher who absolutely is an end (although only slightly bigger than Walker) and refined pass rusher. He might turn out to be a better pass rusher than what we would have gotten at 12, a player who may have more resembled Parsons.

It's just interesting how that worked out.
I think at pick #12 you want the best of all worlds i.e., an elite talent (proven/demonstrated on the field) with a high-floor. Booker offered that.

Walker offered a high-ceiling but unsurety about what his position would be. I imagine the Cowboys didn’t want to risk taking on that experiment.

I would have taken Grant at 12
If booker was still there at 44 take him; if not look at the big board and take the best of DT or RB still there
and done that on the third rd with whichever postion I did take in the 2nd or if I did take DT then RB whichever was higher on our board
I would have gone into the draft understanding that since we filled no real holes in FA it would have to come here. DT and RB first; then G and CB after.

This team is going to need more than one offseason to restock
One thing that hurt us both this year and last was dumb trades using our fourth rd picks
