Someone needs to warn them about the days of misery that are coming for them...lol.......i like post #43 the best.....

I like this guy:
I'm excited about this hire. Dallas had a very good defense until Parcells came in and imposed his will on it. He'll be great for this team. Anyone know if he as well holds players accountable like Petrino does

My objection to Zimmer is that he is just as bad if not worse than Zonatell in sticking in zone defense and never blitzing. He is the same kind of "bend but don't break" defensive coordinator we just fired. I wanted a DC that was actually aggressive and mixed in a healthy amount of blitz packages.

Instead we settle for a guy who was vilified in Dallas for never putting pressure on the quarterback. The "coach speak" from the ol' college coach about being "aggressive" on defense didn't even last past the first week with this hire. The only way our defense will be aggressive is if the ol' college coach calls all the plays on defense as well.

Zimmer is a great 4-3 defensive mind. The Falcons play a 4-3. I see their defense just getting better.

exactly, wasnt everybody glad to see payton gone and saying the same things that are being said about zimmer now? i guess ignorance is bliss. one of these days homers are going to have realise that parcells is whats keeping this team back. i just wish jerry would grow some testicular fortitude and stand up to the fatman

Because everyone seems to think Zimmer was the cause for allour problems, includding the play calling in the CHawks game.

yeah, great 4-3 defensive mind. I guess that's why his 4-3 defense is in the NFL record books for allowing more 200+yard rushers in a season, back when he was DC under Campo.

Good call!

People really need to stop with this line of thinking. The one thing has absolutely NOTHING to do with the other. They are two different people and the fact of the matter is, the offense really WASN'T much better after Payton left, until they put Romo in. I would also suggest that having TO on offense might have helped Payton a bit, too, if he had stayed.

Zimmer is not a 3-4 coach. Period, End of Discussion. Having him run a 3-4 was, frankly, ********. I don't care if the guy is wildly successful in Atlanta, the DALLAS defense (you know, the team WE like) will be better off for this.

it's the old "if you're a cowboy you get a lot of leeway and are a superstar, if you're out the door, then you always sucked" mentality.

we'll see. if parcells was calling the shots and schemes - what will change?

nothing. no matter how much you want it to, nothing.

Zimmer's defenses did the same under Campo, was Davey boy holding him back too?

Give it a rest, Zimmer sucked.

I have been calling for him to be gone for 5 years, thank God he is gone now.

I really wouldnt be surprised if Zimmer went to Atlanta and did some good things.

I dont know how much control he will have there, but I am thinking it is going to be more than he had here.

I still think Zimmer was only calling "Parcells' Gameplan". JJT's recent article about Bill calling the plays late in the season only adds credence to that belief.

Parcells in 2007 + No Zimmer in 2007 = A wash

A healthy Abraham and Kearney on each end will also make him look like a genius..
