I see 3 running backs who didn't play much last year, so I see 3 rested runners.

Portis is 28, not old, the other 2 are 30 I believe and basically had last year off.

I think they have more ammunition than fans think for the o-line.

Depending how the draft plays out, they could have a trade down if one of the two DTs actually dropped to them.

Wait till their oline is set going into training camp.

Fans are really underestimating that running game and shanny as a play caller. Never mind Mcnabb is just going from one west coast offense to another.

Stephon Heyer Vs Anthony Spencer
Casey Rabach Vs Jay Ratliff
Rookie Vs Demarcus Ware

Mike Williams chop blocking will be like a overturned 18 wheeler on I-35. By the time Larry Johnson gets around that fat *** he will be tackled for a loss.

30 is absolutely old for a RB. Did you see what happened to Tomlinson or Shaun Alexander when they turned 29? And Portis has been hurt more and more every year, he's going to fall off a cliff soon too.

How soon we forget that Cowboy Nation once accepted Randall Cuningham as it's QB in Dallas. That's because hating the "athelete of your rival", which is a given, is always differnet and removed from likng the person themselves, especially after they become your team's mate.

Cuningham was a likeable person. McNabb is a likeable person also, wheter anyone can admit it or not. So I fully expect Commander Nation to embrace McNabb personally, and that's probably why so many who were opposed to the move before it happend are in favor of the move now.

espn rumor mill, TO to reunite with McNabb and sign with Commanders. That would be fun.

they did a poll on Monday, are you happy with McNabb here, 70% yes, 30% no.

I'd be just as interested to see what Eagles fans think.

Wow.

You don't think 30 is old for a RB?

...and the wear and tear on Portis?

That RB corps is a nightmare scenario. If they stand pat with that threesome they'll be lucky to make it through 6 weeks with all three healthy. Very lucky. Hell, they'll be lucky to have one of the three healthy after 6 weeks.

As for the Skins moves....they've improved on the field, I don't think there is any question about that. But they have given up FAR too much in the process, as usual. A one year contract for McNabb was silly IMO. They still need to find offensive lineman...Flozell would help them tremendously, but they have holes all over the line. How quickly will McNabb get rolling with a new team? Will their young WR's step up? Moss isn't getting any faster, and his speed is really the only thing that made him special. They need to do something at RB. They have no depth. And the last time I checked, Danny Snyder was still in charge...

To be honest, while I think this team is improved by these moves, I think this was 100% the wrong route to take for Washington. This team is a complete mess. Filling a few starting roles with good players is just sticking a pinky in the dike....

I have a friend thats a Commanders fan. He is happy about it, but he isn't sold anything is actually going to get better. He wishes they hadn't gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for him. He said he would have been OK with a 2nd, and 4th, but thought all three was overpaying.

They gave up a 2nd and a conditional 3rd or 4th in 2011 depending on how many games he plays and/or if he makes the pro bowl.

I believe McNabb will improve the team and the play around him, but we still need to improve the offensive line. Of course good QB does imporve the OL and vice versa.

At this point I see the Cowboys winning the division with the Skins 2nd and the Eagles and Giants fighting it out for last place.

Like it or not, with Shanahan and Allen in charge and they are in charge. Things will get better for the Commanders. I think it will be great for a rebirth of the Rivalry.

I agree...Like it or not, I think the NFL is a better place with a good Commanders team.

The Cowboys / Commanders rivalry is my favorite...Always has been, always will be.

The Eagles and Giant's can fall off the face of the earth and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

I see people bring up Deion and TO, but the Cowboys were both their third teams. McNabb has been the face of the eagles for a long time.

I think Wille Parker couold be a godd pick up, less Pt could keep him healthy and dangerous.

Larry Johnson is done though, I mean you look at the last three years and you see he's seriously in decline. WHY!

Why do people believe the Giants are going to fall off the face of the Earth so quickly. I just do not see that.

Mixed reactions in DC. It's "fool me once, fool me twice" etc...

But just like most fans - and perhaps more than some others, we're dreamers, and it's an exciting move.

I think they want to compete now and build for the future, and that wasn't going to happen with Campbell. Also, if we drafted a QB, we'd have a gaping whole at tackle.

As for getting more draft picks, I think they might move some players. They are trying to change the culture around here; anyone not on board is going to either get traded or benched. (it's what most fans around here are happy about).

As to the three aging running backs, many liked the move. You've got three guys - all in a relatively similar situation - competing for the #1 spot; if one guy gets injured, in comes another. Also, guys like Johnson and Parker's contracts are flexible, so if they don't perform they might not even make the team.
