Based on everything we are hearing this is how I see the offseason playing out:

Coop traded, for maybe as high as a 2nd and saves us 16 million and 20 million next year.
LC traded, for maybe a 3rd, only saves us 1.3 million this year, but over 15 million next year.
Jarwin will get an injury settlement. Could save us as much 3.8 million this year and 7 million next year.

Those three moves puts us at 20 million under the cap, after the Schultz tag.
Sounds like we are also working on a long-term deal for Schultz that could bring his salary cap hit as low as 4 million for this year.

That would put us somewhere at 25 to 26 million under the cap, with Schultz signed.

If the Cowboys are high on Joseph, Brown could get cut, but I would favor cutting Lewis to save 2.3 mil this year and then over 6 million in '23.

Both DLaw and Zeke will be here in '22, but will likely be cut next year, which will save us 25 million on next year's cap. Our '23 cap is shaping up to be in very good shape, even with the anticipated Schultz, Gallup, and Gregory deals.

Slater was saying that a deal with Gallup is imminent, coming in somewhere between 10-12 million, with a cap hit this year that would certainly be under 10.

Brouddaus was saying that he thinks Gregory's market won't be as great as has been speculated and that he is looking at between 8-10 million. I think we get that deal done if that is true.

I think we can still fit Kearse and a few cheap FAs after that. Maybe Urban, maybe Hooker, etc.

If this all comes to pass I would be excited about having Gregory, DLaw, and Parsons together for one more year. I would also be excited to have five picks in the top 100 this year. I would imagine fixing the OL, and finding replacements for Cooper and LVE would be the priority in the draft.

This also sets up nicely for '23. Even with those deals above, we will have some nice salary cap space and we should have a number of nice comp picks.

Why the hell would anyone want to pay 8-10 million a year for a DE with Randy Gregory's production?

It's absolute insanity. I would expect a day 3 pick in the draft to be able to match that slop over 7 years.

The Cowboys shouldn't even be talking to his agent.

same reas9n why a team wants to pay below average WBs 20 plus mil a year. They don't know lol

i'm not convinced they'll move on from zeke.
they love the guy...so i'll believe it when/if it happens.
they are heavily interested in the running backs in this years draft if those reports are true....that might be more about pollard...a free agent next year.
maybe they think he'll be too expensive.

I could see that. Zeke getting cut in '23 is speculation and leaves us with a lot of dead cap space. If he has a good '22 I could see him being around at least until '24.

They don't love Zeke. They're tied to him. Cutting him would actually cost significant cap space. There's no other reason to keep a washed RB that has a cap charge that is roughly twice the franchise tag amount for the position. No matter how much you 'love' him.

Unfortunately Jerry's JWB does not have any tea leaves. So he just guesses after a half a bottle. :lmao2:

I think you’re probably correct
I wouldn’t pay that to Gregory but he’s Jerry project like Smith was so he will be on the team and overpaid until he totally craps the bed
Also, Brown and Lewis are starting CBs. Someone will throw us a 4-5 rd pick if we try

I agree with what you have written except Collins. From my understanding, if they get rid of him after June1, they save like 13 million)Im off by a little in either direction) but they save all of that THIS YEAR. So IMO, no way they trade him prior to that date.

If they keep Dlaw I would not pay Gregory
If they let Dlaw go then they have to pay Gregory
You can’t go into next year with what we have at DE and you can’t bet on finding a guy in the draft who is ready to start at our spot in the draft

they'll try to restructure before they'll cut him.
