Ready for a mutiny

I'm ready for a court-martial.

I think QB coach would be a very fitting title for Garrett.

Or waterboy for Dan Reeves. :D

:laugh2: Actually, a lot of folks were saying that back then. Not sure I remember anyone complaining about the kicker though. All my friends and family that complained those first few seasons gained selective memory shortly after that first playoff win against the Bears. By the first Superbowl, they all remember being in Jimmy and Aikman's corner from the start.

A lot of people I knew quickly forgot about that Bears win the following week when Detroit handled the Cowboys. It was crazy. I am really glad I knew nothing of internets and message boards back then.

It was one game. It's done. Look at it this way, this was the one game the Cowboys played poorly in just like vs Eagles and then Vikings in 09. Now they will peak in December rather than September.

I assume that was after one game of mistakes?

Pretty much. He told jimmy he had lost his confidence. Jimmy said thats all it took. He knew it would only get worse as the season progressed.

I always here these things ...... but did either ever happen?

I know he cut that RB who kept fumbling but was it on the flight home?

I thought that the player was cut for not being in his assigned seat during the return flight home. I seem to remember a JAG swapping seats with a starter so that the starter could get in on a game a cards or something like that. Anyway, the seat swapping just pissed Jimmy off so he cut the JAG.

So in actuality ..... Jimmy never did any of the things that people say he did as coach.

And Barron would still be on the team even if Jimmy was coach still ...

Got it.

Barron would have been in the belly of the plane if Jimmy was here.
And even then he would have been lucky.

What I meant by a mutiny was regarding the offensive play calling. Where Romo would just disregard the call sent in and use the package he has to change the call.

Not necessarily an overthrow of the entire staff.

I don't recall Jimmy calling out players publically either. Parcells did, but not Jimmy that I recall.

Johnny Unitas would agree with you.

That's bizarre. If anything came out of this weekend, it was that he does have control over more than most people think.

didnt Jimmy cut someone who fell asleep in a meeting? I heard a cowboy player mention that he falls asleep often in meetings. Wade probably leaves a candy on his desk to cheer him up.

Jimmy went step further...he called Emmitt Smith out in front of entire team. Then pulled Emmitt aside later and said he need to do that cause he was a star player...so the 2nd and 3rd tier players knew they didnt stand a chance...and this made them all play like bunch of mad dogs.

You really want me to put you on triple ignore like I did Sacamano, huh?

:)

"Did GimmeTheBall say anything interesting here? Just want to know if I need to take him off ignore or something."

Then that was not a call out .... it was a setup. If Emmitt was not allowed to worry it was nothing than Jimmy manipulating the rest of the team.

Anyone remember the second half of the Eagles game in '08? When Wade wanted to punt and Romo basically told him to go **** himself and went for it anyway?

Yeah, that was the most damning evidence against Phillips and Garrett

how does Garrett figure into that? It was Romo calling off Wade..and i suspect Garrett wanted to do same thing as Romo.
