Realistic Expectations For Kelvin Joseph

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the C'boys' staff keeps tight reins on him to be a reliable student of the game. Missing meetings and/or failing to show proper dedication to the learning process should not be tolerated. Let's make sure he's willing and able to "keep his nose to the grindstone."

This already sounds complicated

The talent seems to be there but I have only seen his highlight reels. He will have an opportunity to win a starting spot. I expect him to work hard.

Realistic expectation: active on game day and part of the CB rotation. Starter by Thanksgiving is possible.

pretty much like Diggs, 2 to 3 ints maybe a bit better if the defensive line is able to play better in stopping run and applying pressure. I would suspect Joseph will have his share of poor plays just as Diggs

why exactly do we need to put expectations on a rookie?

look I say he should not get caught up in who starts, how much playing time he gets, and trying to be great..

what i expect out of rookie is to learn the playbook backwards and forwards, practice hard, get in the weight room hard, and when the coaches call on you go do your job to the best of your ability..

Diggs was a 2nd rounder and he was like a rollercoaster of ups and downs but you can see his ability..it was far from prefect season but it gave fans/coaches confidence he will grow into the position..

that what i expect , just effort to do the best you can with he things you can control and as rookie, thats just working hard and listening to coaches..not to become ROTY..thats a bonus but not expected, as that unfair to lay that on any rookie..

He'll be backup this year to Brown, most likely, a starter if Diggs or Brown go down. After that, who knows.

Just as players have expectation of themselves fans too look at players with certain expectation, the higher the draft pick the higher the expectations. For me I expect young players to have their share of mistakes I also expect them to learn from them and to make plays to help this team.

He's a 2nd round pick and in today's NFL, teams need to count on their top picks making some sort of impact early in their careers. Add in the fact our 2nd round picks historically have been all over the place, you'd like to think if this team has any confidence in competing that they would get something out of Joseph this year.

most player come into the league needing time to learn and adjust, the anomaly is the player exceeding basic expectations..CB is one of the toughest transitions from college to pros outside of QB..

sorry but fans in the zone are horrible about placing their own expectations on players then calling them bust after the rookie didn't meet said expectations..

my expectation is realistic and what actual coaches expect as well..read it, what you replied to ,SLOWLY, thats REALITY..

I have to make sure "Bossman Fat" can take the NFL serious first. If it's just a side gig he will not be here long. God bless Jerry and his draft pics.

Fans tend to be horrible about making snap judgement and never letting up, guy has a bad game and we have people hollering bust. I fully expect young players including Parson to make mistakes but I also expect that they grow and learn as well as learn from mistakes and improve and make plays just as Diggs did last season. Diggs started off making mistakes but always hustled like he did vs the Seahawks when he was burned by Metcalf yet stayed in the play and knocked the ball out creating the turnover. As the season wore on he was making plays and doing much better. Saying no expectation? sorry no as a paid professional they have expectations on them and the higher they were selected the higher the expectations will be. Not saying all pro season what I am saying is positive results and showing better play as the season moves on.
