CFZ Really believe the Cowboys should follow the 49ers template or their offense!

49ers are known to be a very physical, run first team. Their success on the ground goes hand in hand with their passing game. All their skill players strength lies with their ability to get yards after the catch. They went to a Super Bowl with a game manager and almost did it again with a QB that was the last pick in the draft.

Fix their run game-starts with having a better rushing plan and then finding the right personnel. Pollard could be that homerun back and really be a weapon as a receiver. Draft a physical, change of pace back to replace Zeke with. Look to improve the interior of our OL. Find lineman who can get a consistent push in the run game and are athletic enough to hit moving targets in space. Incorporate a Full Back.

Find receivers who excel in gaining yards after catch. Remember, the WCO is more of a short passing offense that relies on their receivers to take a 5 yard catch and turn it into a 20 one. Look for physical specimens to can go get the football and rack up yards in the open field.

Take the ball out of Dak Prescott’s hands, make him throw very selectively on certain plays. A punishing run game that moves the chains on first and second down limiting the need for 3rd and longs only way Dak can be effective.

It provided Romo his best year. 2014 when he leaned on Demarco and the run game, he was at his best.

Trying to overcome or chase 3rd and longs is not a good recipe, for anyone.

Most teams should do this. As you can see it doesnt require a team to over pay average qb's but as always if you get an elite huy you keep him. If not just plug another qb in an keep rolling.

And yet we should have beat then with just normal play from our QB.

Keep dak at 25 or less attempts a game and power running.
This is the most prevailing myth on this forum. This stuff does not work, boys!

The only teams that averaged less than 30 passes a game this season?

Falcons--losing season
Bears--losing season
Ravens-lost Wild card round
Panthers--losing season
Titans--losing season

Only woeful Bears and Falcons average less than 30 passes...and why? They have no QB and no shot.

Ouch! Those facts are not going to sit well in this thread.

Time-limit elapsed before I could correct the last sentence.

Only two teams averaged around 25 passes per game: Bears and Falcons.

Others of note (pass attempts per game):
49ers, 30
Eagles, 32
Cowboys, 33
Bengals, 36
Chiefs, 38

4 of 5 pass-happiest teams made the playoffs
4 of 5 most pass-averse teams didn't make the playoffs

Having a dominant run game is not flashy enough for Jerry. Those run-first teams like the ones from the early 1990’s were just not exciting enough for the Jones family.

What I've wanted for years.

We're well positioned for it on the oline if we keep Tyron.
Tyron, Tyler, Biadasz/Pick,Martin, Steele.
An upgrade at C would make for a monster oline.

Get a big bludgeoning back to replace Zeke, and have *both* RBs on the field at the same time, with Pollard being the motion RB/WR he was drafted to be.
Still infuriates me that we only sent Pollard deep once, scored a 60 yard TD, then never did it again.
Pollard is a personnel package mismatch if we *use* that mismatch. Pair him against a LB and we should just send him deep as a matter of course. We're one of the few teams with LBs who have a prayer of keeping up with him. He'll just run right by most LBs. It's just pitch and catch for Dak.

After eliminating us.

Their QB went down. That's their excuse.

Our excuse is our QB didn't.
True, but we don't know how he would have done anyhow. Many would believe if our QB went down, we would have had a better chance

Prescott is not accurate enough to feast on yards after the catch.
Gotta hit guys on their breaks in stride.

When he's BAD DAK, he just doesn't pull the trigger fast enough for WC to work.

We've seen him being GOOD DAK before, just pulling the trigger and the offense humming.

He doesn't get that holding the ball to make sure he has a good read is what turns good reads into bad reads.

The best version of dak we've seen was his rookie yr. He took what they gave, didn't worry about the big hitter. For Dallas to return to that they need find 2 rbs. Cause neither rb should be back in 2023. Reset the clock
