Really excited about Lance Dunbar

I understand both sides of this debate. On one hand, I'll agree with the naysayers in the respect that Lance Dunbar really did not seem to be very special last year. On the other hand, from what I've seen of highlights in practice, read from report's from various sources, and watched in preseason he looks like a quicker, faster, more decisive runner and his pass catching looks natural. Granted, he still has a lot to prove in the regular season (e.g. can he do it against top tier talent / can he stay healthy?), but I for one am still very excited to find out.

I think Sproles is a special talent, and I'm not so high on Dunbar that I'd put him in that class.
That said, he's quick to the edge, and seems to be a heady player. He's the kind of guy that you can really use to take advantage of a defense when you've already got them compromised by Jason Witten, Dez Bryant, and Miles Austin. At that point, you're not going to have anybody left that can handle the Dunbars (I actually think Beasley fits into this mismatch category, too) of the world one-on-one. He's going to do a lot of damage just because he's schemed into the big plays.

I also think he's got a chance to be really effective on the screens. But I'll believe that when I see it. I'm really pulling for it, though. Either way, I'm excited to see him in the offense, too.

Let me see if I have this right:

[x] very good QB
[x] very good to terrific WR's
[x] very good to terrific TE's
[x] dunbar with mismatches on 3rd down
[x] Murray good to very good running the ball
[ ] OLine that makes it all click

yeah, that one non-check is what worries me

I'd probably compare him to Jamaal Charles. They have similar builds and quickness. The first thing I thought of when I saw Charles on the top 100 players show was he's like Dunbar.

That's what I'm saying. His acceleration is pretty rare IMO.

Of course, it needs to be with him being 5-8 and going about a buck seventy-five. Maybe he does great and maybe he doesn't, but if he can get out and catch some passes like he did against Arizona, he's going to scare the **** out of defenses.

Yes, if he makes a couple plays early in the year, just to show defenses what he can do I think they will have to pay attention to him and think twice about sending a blitz on 3rd downs when he is out there, that's a benefit all by its self
