Really excited about our UDFAs

I remember being really excited about Ron Leary, and there are some more UDFAs that have me excited this year.

L'Damian Washington, WR, Missouri, the speed and size of this guy is really interesting. It'll be awesome to see if he can put those together and give us some more size depth on the outsides. Not sure if we can carry 6 wide receivers on the roster, so he'll really have to battle out and try to beat Devin Street for the roster spot. It should be noted that all the receivers we went after are outside guys. We don't need any more slot receivers, we need that depth on the outside. Same reason why we signed Chris Boyd.

J.C. Copeland, FB, LSU, I've always liked the idea of having a big bruiser fullback, but with that being said, this guy is a long shot to make the team. We're still a 2 tight end team, and we're still likely to go heavy on tight ends, with at least 4 tight ends on the roster. This guy is going to have to distinguish himself early, and make himself indispensable. Would love to see our ground game with him and this beefed up offensive line.

Ben Malena, RB, T A&M, I had a lot of faith in Dunbar last year, but if Dunbar can't return from his injuries and contribute this year, we should keep our eye out for Malena. His test will mainly be to beat out Joseph Randle, which shouldn't be difficult. I like the type of runner this guy is. I think he could be a nice option to spell Murray. Something we weren't able to do at all last year. He'll also have to make himself more valuable than Glasco Martin, who probably offers a different dimension in his game than Murray or Dunbar have.

Who says we're a two TE team now? They really started to implement more 11 personnel as the year went on. Clutts was still on the roster at the end of the season and he's currently on the team. I don't see why Copeland can't beat out a journeyman like Clutts. Plus, we still don't have a true blocking tight end.

We used more 11, but when referring to the team as a 2 TE team, that saying that we are a 12 team as opposed to a 21 team. Clutts didn't get a lot of snaps, not sure there is any reason to suggest that Copeland has a great chance at making the team because of Clutts' presence.

What about that DL Whaley from Texas? Didn't he play pretty well before he was injured?

I liked our 7th round.
It seemed the mid 5th thru 7th rounds this year all had about equal talent...so it worked out ok.

I think Copeland has better than 50/50 shot to make the team. As far as this being a two TE team, thought I saw about a month ago, talk of Escobar lining up in the slot quite a bit

Chris Whaley is my coworker's nephew so I hope he makes the team! He's also a longhorn so i feel like I'm vested in him

Jerry said that he is still injured and they look at him as a redshirt player. So expect him to go on PUP and then possibly IR down the road. He's got 3 tech talent that's why they got him.
