Really interested to see how we start the game

If you watched the interview last night with Garry Kubiak after the game, reporters asked why he called 6 passing plays to begin the game. He basically said he wanted to show Seimian that he had trust and confidence in him. He believed he had earned it and asked what kind of message he would have sent to his quarterback if he had called 6 running plays instead. I thought that was a very interesting comment and wonder if Jason Garrett will do something similar in regards to trusting his quarterback, or will he play it conservative. That doesn't mean I think we should call 6 straight passing plays, but would like to see a diverse gameplan.

It's Garrett, so he will naturally be playing it conservative. But in doing so, he's putting it in the hands of his other rookie, Zeke.

I'd like to see them push the ball downfield early in the first series. But no matter what, we're going to be running the football a ton for obvious reasons.

Garrett won't be calling plays, but tactically, his offenses play conservatively a lot when he doesn't trust a player with risk. I wouldn't say Tony pulls punches when he's given the opportunity. Dak probably still needs to earn some regular season trust, but I bet they take some shots. Especially with Butler in the game. He and Dak seem to have some chemistry.

I really like what they did with Dak in the preseason as far as mixing up the playcalling, as I'm sure most everyone here does as well. I just hope they don't get ultra conservative now that the regular season is starting.

I think this connection may be the surprise story of the game.

I do too. But not necessarily on 9s, but some of those deep ins and that sort of thing.

I don't think, quite frankly, that Dak and Butler's chemistry matters, at least not week 1. Butler has had a good camp but I still have a hard time seeing him taking any snaps from Williams, and he certainly isn't going to get Beasley's in the slot. So unless they have some personnel groupings that they've never shown, Butler isn't going to get a lot of looks.

1st play, play action go deep to dez or brice!
Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants load the box on the very first play. It doesn't necessarily have to be a deep route though. Even just a Slant would send a message. I'm confident that even against an 8-man box defense we can run the ball effectively but it would be great if the passing game can do just enough to keep that Safety from cheating up.

On the flipside, when the Giants start to pass blitz, which will probably happen early and often, Screens are going to be paramount. Fortunately, this is something this offense is capable of with Beasley and the RBs. Speaking of Beasley, I'm going to go ahead and say that if the Cowboys win this game, Beasley has at least 10 targets.

Hopefully on defense.

I think just the opposite.

I think we want to start on offense and get the ball rolling. Even if it is a 3 and out and then the Giants get the ball and score, it's not as bad as if Dak opens the game in a 7-0 hole.

We ran against 8 man fronts in Seattle. I think we can against New York and we have to in order to make the rest work.

THIS was my EXACT point as to why I would start out the game with some passes and no go in conservative from the start.

I hope we get the ball first and let Dak get those butterflies out early. I really don't want him waiting to get the ball especially if the Giants go up 7-0.

I can see later on in the game, but not too late, maybe 2nd. Or 3rd possession of some designed roll outs for Dak. ,aye even an option type play. Where he can pass it if there, or pitch it back to Zeke, or just run with it for a 1st down.
This would be on plays where we need 4 to 6 yards range.

Some rolls it's that is to pass only, then throw the ball away if not there, or run if a lane is there.
And for sure once the running game is going, use the play action more than they usually do. This will keep the NY new D off balance.

I said the same exact thing. Also noticed every play Dak started with has been a play action bootleg pass to the tightend. Hope the Giants haven't picked that up and if they have I hope we run that same play but uncork one deep to Dez or TWill on the first play
