Burks is being compared to Deebo and rightly so. Very versatile player. However as we saw with CeeDee, just making guys miss in college does not mean it will work in the NFL. The thing that separates Deebo is the Niners run scheme and OL. They run any way they want and Deebo is an extension of that.

Dallas does not have that type of creative run scheme and by not addressing LG at 24, likely won’t again. Then Burks becomes just another crazy athletic WR that Dak can’t utilize properly.

Burks is a great talent but he’s better off in a place like Baltimore than here

Burks strikes me as a Jason Garrett type of receiver. JG wanted a big, fast, stiff X receiver to run verticals and comebacks on the sideline all day. Dez was the best of them, but Miles Austin, T-Will, Roy Williams, they were all the same kind of dude.

Burks would actually do well in that clearout role, where you either hover a safety over him or Romo throws up a 50/50 ball into single coverage for a big play. But Dak's not Romo and Kellen Moore isn't Garrett. He doesn't fit this team.

IMO, Burks needs to go to somewhere like Green Bay and be their new Marquez Valdez-Scantling.

This coaching staff won’t be here for long. You don’t make long term decisions based on short term situations.

Good post. Moore wanting that kind of guy makes sense, considering his time under Garrett. Dak is just not the guy to take those risks

You can also get someone to do that in a much later round.

Burks lack of experience actually running routes down the field terrifies me.

Just me, but Deebo is a product of Shanahan's creativity/scheming. Not sure he'd have the same success on another team. Likewise, I'm not another HC who can pull it off with another player. In other words, this is all Shanahan IMO........

I hope the pick is Kenyon Green but would like Burks as well. His highly competitive nature is just what the offense could use. There are a lot of good IOL in this draft that could be an upgrade to McGovern. But even if the pass protection is poor someone like Burks is ideal for a passing game designed to get the ball out quick. We needed that last year anyway after defenses started taking away our long passing game.

I would take London or Olave over Burks. Both have higher ceilings and higher floors.

What bothers me most about Burks is he likes to catch with his body more than his hands. Dak is best with receivers who

Maybe not, but Dak is here to stay. Burks runs undisciplined routes and Dak needs receivers he knows will be where they're supposed to be.

So instead of trying to make Burks another Deebo Samuels, ..what if we make him more another Mike Evans ?

They are reporting he has bad knees. He could slide a bit

We already can’t run the ball. Adding a slow receiver in Round 1 is the opposite of fixing the problem.

I still don't get the Deebo comparisons.

Deebo is shorter, faster, quicker, etc. Other than that, they are similar I guess.

He is a monster in space. Find ways to get him the football and let him go

According to Mosher it's nothing serious but it will be interesting to watch if he does.
