One call rarely loses you a game. That's not what is being discussed here.

What is being discussed is some conspiracy theory against the Cowboys where all big calls go against this team. Somehow people keep forgetting that in our one playoff win in the last number of years we got the biggest call of the game. By far.
And the league made up for it the week after against us. What's your point?

"The league made up for it."

If I really thought the Cowboys were being systemically cheated by the league i'd stop following the sport. Good for you sticking it out.

Yeah I remember in the Detroit playoff game when they picked up that flag to screw us... Hey wait a minute!

All of the prior post (before yours) made good points about a uniform approach to calling penalties. I dont think everyone was necessarily crying about conspiracies but more so frustrated with inconsistent officiating.

Im also fairly certain in the Detroit playoff game the pass catcher initiated contact before Hitchens would be PI. So I dont see your point. Id have to ask, are you actually happy with the way games are called? Are the officials being held to an acceptable standard?

IN this very thread I talked about officiating being bad. IT just is and that's an unfortunate fact of life. But ifyou don't see people complaining about some kind of conspiracy theory against the Cowboys then you aren't reading the thread and are new here.

I mean the OP alludes to the NFL "not learning its lesson."

What are you trying to prove. The flag was thrown against Hitchens. It was then picked up. They were never calling PI.

For as long as l have watched football the officiating has been bad and inconsistent! I really don't expect that too change much.

Im trying to make a case that us getting "the biggest call of the game" is a load of crap, because Detroit initiated contact well ahead of Hitchens, therefore if they were to actually flag us for PI that too would be a load of crap as Hitchens was reacting and recovering from offensive PI.

They missed that detroit contact. They had called it on hitchens. They took it back.

Dez caught it.

The officiating in our game against Green bay was bad.

Officiating in the NFL is in a sorry place.

There isn't a conspiracy against the Cowboys. That's fan fiction.

You find nothing suspicious about the Dez non-catch, the penalty on butler that was last called 1 million plays ago, or the mugging in Irving? Those are all just your normal run of the mill calls/non-calls in the NFL?

Sorry man those calls/non-calls were calculated. It's like the ref was going to call that butler penalty in the game his mind was made up.

Suspicious is not a conspiracy theory. But it does make you go hmmm

I don't believe they are systematically cheated. However for that to transpire after Blandino was attacked in the press all week for being on Jerry's party bus. Yeah it is a little fishy to me.

Actually. Sorry. You are wrong. The flag was picked up because the original penalty was for "face guarding " which isn't a penalty in the nfl but ncaa. At least that is how I remember it..

The NFL does not care at all what the resale value of Superbowl tickets is. They make money from the first sale only.

They care because it's a KPI.

Back in 2014 when we lost to the Niners at home and everybody remarked how many Niners fans were at the stadium. One of the key points that Jerry made was that tickets were selling far, far higher than their retail value. Believe me, they care because it gives a good ballpark as far as how the product and brand are viewed by the public.

Just once I'd like to see a coach( preferably ours) wheel out a tv and dvr of the game just played in a post game press conference and have an impromptu review of calls vs no calls and then walk off without answering questions

There are a ton of things the NFL could do to help the refs. Simplify and clarify the rules. Use technology to help remove human bias. Turn the position into a year-round profession and raise the base salary for rookie refs to attract the best and brightest minds.

So why is the NFL not doing these things?

Because.

1. Where is the drama? Controversial calls have always been a huge part of the NFL experience. Its a feature. Not a bug.

2. Who is to blame? If everyone is pointing the finger at the refs that means it is not being pointed at YOU.

3. And, of course, money. Essentially all decisions in the NFL are made by committee. And everyone is always trying to game the system in the committees in a way that benefits their franchise the most.

The bottom line is the NFL has become one of the most bloated, corrupt, and Byzantine organizations on Planet Earth. Its not that the system is rigged. Its that it is broken. And with the amount of money the NFL makes there is no real incentive to implement the kind of change that is needed to improve.

The only "fix" is decline, near collapse, and then rebirth.

But rebirth is not guaranteed. So we'll see.

They have learned from the best......1/2 the people love you and 1/2 the people hate you and the haters watch you even more........ all controversy is just people talking about you
