Ok, it's half-way through and we have a bunch of heated debates, that swing violently whether we win or lose.
I'm calling you out for being a homer or a poser-fan if you don't agree with the following:
1) The defense is solid, but not unbeatable. No defense is (even look at Chicago yesterday). Our D seems to give up points when our O puts them in tough spots (again, just like every other team). But we are damn near impossible to score against on long drives. In short, they are not the problem.
2) Mistakes are the problem. Are we cursed? Are we mentally weak? These are the only legitimate questions. We have oodles of talent. None of this "So and So" sucks posts including:
3) Roy Williams sucks. Shut up. Every player gets beat during games occassionally. Every opponent is an All-World athlete as well. He makes tons of plays and is one of maybe 3 catalytic players we have on D.
4) TO sucks. He has always had the dropsies. We knew we get the good with the bad. And I'd hate to see where we are without him.
5) Bradie/Akin suck. Akin has been getting better every week and seems to make a lot of tackles. Bradie seems a little down from last year, but ditto the tackles. These guys are suppossed to stop the run, and we are total beasts at that. The stats don't lie. This point also reminds me of people screaming for Fergie's head last year. This year, he could be a Pro Bowler.
6) Kosier sucks. Watch the game...he's very solid and an upgrade over LA.
7) You are a homer if you don't think the coaching staff deserves some questions. You don't coach mistakes, eh Bill? Then why do we make so many every game.
8) You're a fake fan if you think Bill should be fired. We have oodles of talent because of him and I still see him as being one of the best there is...but maybe he needs to shake things up a little more.
9) Zimmer is solid, probably doesn't deserve to be fired, but CAN NOT coach the blitz. This is not an 8 game trend. It's 5 years -- we always run straight into blockers so we can maintain our "lanes".
10) You're a homer if you think Barber should start. You think he can dish that pounding for 22 touches a game? And you think he's better than Julius? Gotta trust the excpetional talent evaluator (BP) on this one.
11) The oline is pretty good, I'd say around #15 in the league. They've been run blocking most of the year, and even had a couple games of good pass blocking with Bledsoe. I knew it before he came here -- he makes every line look bad. Colombo is not the worst right tackle ever. Rivera is not below-avergae. Flozell is not a pos.
12) You're a poser fan if you think we couldn't win the Super Bowl. 8 games does not make a season, and every week shows anybody can win. Plus, we have the talent. More than most. If we could only stop shooting ourselves in the foot, I could see an incredible 10-2 or 11-1 run from here.
13) You're a homer if you think we will definetly make the playoffs. We might end up 8-8 as well. After this loss, not many people disagree with this one. But everybody had us at 6-3 after we beat the Panthers.
