here is why i have loved what i saw in our training camp, and have great optimism going into the season.
Injuries
Other than the obvious (TO) and some guys like glenn (3-4) practices, we have been very, very lucky in the injury category
Rookie & 2nd year player development
Three Rookies pushing for starting jobs (Watkins, Carpenter, Fasano) Three others that look to make our 53 man roster
Hatcher (7th Defensive lineman)
Green (last receiever or return specialist)
Mcquistan (Last offensive lineman)
Canty is a 4th round pick that is starting
Spears is back just two weeks after tearing his meniscus the second day of camp
Jay Ratliff is a 6th rounder starting!! (awesome)
Burnett is back from his knee and looking healthy
O-Line coming around
Marc Columbo (who expected anything?) is producing and pushing to start at right tackle
Pettiti is lighter, stronger, faster, smarter, older and played 16 games so has alot of very valuable experience in game play.
Procter is looking good and expected to be our third guard
Gurode is playing smarter looking healthy and also doubles as another guard in a pinch
Al Johnson has gained muscle weight and is looking healthy
Rivera, Kosier have been solid albeit not great
Hotel has been slowed by last years knee surgery(acl) but is coming around and looking kinda trim.
We acctually have depth
Romo looking solid at QB
3 deep at Tackle albeit not great players but better than other teams (skins, skins, Skins)
tons of guys for the defensive front 7 that could easily start for other teams.
secondary is 4 deep at corner, and watkins is helping at safety
Jones, Barber, Tompson everyone knows the deal at RB
Witten, Fasano, Hannam
Now for the bad news of camp
Vanderjackt is looking bad, and or injured
TO has been hampered by a hammy
Espn News feels like telling me about it every 28 minutes
Henson has not looked great
