Reasons to worry about this game...

2. Peyton knows Romo's tendencies, strengths and weaknesses.

3. Peyton has called plays against our defence in practice for 3 years, it will will hard to surprise him (for reference see TB bucs vs OAK raiders in the SB..)

4. We dont defend the screen well at all. See Giants games for ref and see what Westbrook does against us each time. Now put in Bush in place of Westbrook or Tiki... (see what i mean). Not only do we defend the run poorly, this will also slow down the pass rush giving more time to Brees.

5. If we are to win we HAVE to run the ball effectively and rush the passer effectively.

Having said all this.... GO COWBOYS !!!!!

i agree with what you're saying...but i also think that the same reasons you listed can be an advantage to us...

1. It's important to us with playoff positioning

2. parcells knows peyton's tendencies

3. zimmer has defended peyton's offense the last 3 years...

it still comes down to execution, and big plays.

You left out one thing, visionary, the Cowboys are the better team. The Saints are good and should not be taken lightly, but we have more weapons on offense and defense. We have a fine kick returner in Miles Austin and we may even have a kicker now. We're at home, and if we play on all cylinders, the Boyz win and the Saints lose. Period. That being said, there's a reason they play the games. Hopefully, the real Dallas Cowboys have too much pride to lose to Dallas South.

neither has payton....payton defended agianst the 4-3 mostly..our 3-4 he hasnt had that much time....

1. yes, but we also are going to need a loss somewhere by Seattle.

2. Not to take anything away from Payton, but he knows TR as a backup, things have changed the last 5 games. He will get his info more on film now. I don't think it will be a big factor.

2) You have to remember Payton was working with the starter and David Lee Romo.

3) Our offense has changed the way we do things this year because of the weapons we have.

4) Since Ellis got hurt the LB's have defended the screen much better. Now if the safeties would do their job we would be in good shape.

you said it right there and even Romo mentioned it. Payton may know the tendencies but the players still have to execute. I like our chances against their corners. Owens and Glenn will have a big game.

We always have trouble with the saints. They have our number for some reason.

We havn't beaten them in a while. We have better luck in Dallas, which helps, but Brees is the best QB in the NFL at the moment.

History has no bearing on this game. Brees has not beaten a top 10 defense this year Ravens, Steelers, Panthers. If our defense plays well we win easily if they are bipolar it will be close.

I don't think that the familiarity issue is all that big honestly.

Sure Zimmer and Payton faced off in TC...but do you think they were gameplanning each other? or trying to find strengths and weaknesses?

I doubt it.....

Payton was worried about getting the offense ready. He was concentrating on HIS personnel. During the season, he's worried about opposing teams.

Same with Zimmer.

Now, there will be some knowledge of personnel. After all, Payton isn't blind, he saw our defense everyday. But it isn't like he was "scouting" our team.

Good points....it's clear that only our best football will enable us to win.

Historically, we've not covered TE or RBs well. That's why Bush worries me.

New Orleans also appears to have our number. But we've bucked a number of trends over the last six games.
