Each season, because the sports media wants to turn all sports into soap operas.

Whats the storyline for this game? Whats the drama for this season? Is X player a cancer in the locker room how does it affect the team?

Ok most love it, they need to be lead around.

For us thinkers and fans of the team. 3 themes or labels for every year is said. Rebuild, Win Now, Total Meltdown. Those the easy ones without getting nit picky. From the end of last season to the start of FA, we could be in any three category (ok ok lets not make it doom and gloom all the time, we are talking)

I personally Win Now is out, regardless of whatever Jerry does in the draft and TAKING a RB would be useless, he cant salvage this year right now. There is not enough talent on the table to get us over the NFCE hump.

I personally still dont believe Schott has full control of the team, thats my opinion.

What say you, *forget the doom and gloom, we know the past years) Looking at the evidence, (forget the two sides we have on the board) What do you see to either agree or disagree with me. Where do you stand?

I dont think we can't compete. The problem is we need half a dozen or so quality players to fill holes like, wr, lb, dt, cb.

If we were aggressive in free agency and drafted well it is achievable.

Unfortunately we aren't aggressive.

I think we can get back to contending for a playoff spot if we're healthy. We had three 12-5 seasons, so our core group is good enough to take us that far. Frankly, if we had been healthy in 2024, I believe it's possible that we would have been at least battling Washington for a spot. I don't believe we could have done much with it, though, because we don't supplement that core with game-changing free agents.

Jerry Jones is 82. All he has is "win now".
For his family...money.

He's sacrificing the Cowbiys to the sports media gods to scrape as much money as he can off the Cowboys, for his family, before he dies.

He does not care about a trophy. He cares about inter-season drama and early playoff exits...that makes the most money.

How much is this guy worth? Cowboys are valued high, but he's obviously making money off media drama...he's known as a real estate mogul along with media mogul...I assume he still dabbles in oil and gas. But. Seems like I only see his net worth always being around the value of the Cowboys. I would assume he is a few billion more over the worth of the Cowboys. What are the Cowboys valued at now. 10B?

the man has shifted the sport where the teams make domes , make money year round, and Football itself is obselete.

Its about making money while using the domes and whatever the teams do, the teams do.

We can't. Your right. With or without Micah, we just can't. Owners seem luke warm on doing what it takes, players seem more worried about their brand, and the bag. Meanwhile the fans get forgotten.

This is a tough one
Historically the Team drafts well and does a great job signing undrafted free agents

But I think we are at best third in the division
Philly has lost a bit in free agency but Washington is looking like a win now now Team

I think we will be slow out of the gate ( 3rd defensive scheme in 3 years ) plus Dak will be rusty
We should compete in the 2nd half off the season but not enough to make a deep playoff run

We’ve had a bad run these past two drafts… guyton and mazi look like huge busts.

You had to have a mindset about FA signings to fill what you expected them to be… still some talent in this roster but probably closer to 8 or 9 wins than even a realistic shot at a wildcard spot

Seems there was a gamble on Guytons long arms...and hoping to coach him into a stud.

Seems risky. Dallas has been good at drafting lineman though.

All I really have seen about Guyton are his long arms being talked about. Does he have quick feet too?

Getting some conversation going.

I think right now, we are using FA to clean out. Im not saying im completely buying into it, however evidence shows we are not in a WIN Now mode. To me thats fair, give the new HC time to build.

Cant say for sure that is the way its going now,. still could be same in same out type of year, but we are def out for contention of a SB run.

Love the talk guys. im not as up to date as i used to be, so opinions, takes, stuff like that, feel free to educate me.

Good question i just dont see it your way.

Its not the media that wants to turn all sport into soap operas (and i dont know about all sports because this phenomena is more US based)

I think the NFL itself is that.

This league has nothing to do with authentic sport. Its a pure PR based machine. Thats their business model.

The media is just one business that is making money out of it.
And whats more if you look into it the media itself is not independent. It is owned by the NFL franchises.
Those are not free journalists that write about the NFL.
