Rebuilding year

Clearly, we are rebuilding this team on the fly. I'm okay with this team, this year, taking it's lumps and learning how to win. We are getting younger, so this will happen. These young kids will learn from these failures, and be stronger next year. And we have the right mix of veterans for some nice runs in the near future. We are closer to the goal now than before, just keep working and learning.

I sort of viewed this as a growing year when we cut the under performing vets and went with an extremely young and inexperienced oline.

Most QB's behind that line play would be 0-4 right about now. This team has a ways to go but we are heading in the right direction despite all the doom and gloom after this loss.

........duck dude.......INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banghead:

........Romo is NO kid btw..jeebus :banghead:

the problem with this organization is that they have not been allowed to have a true rebuilding year in decades. jerry has tried quick fixes, glue and spit, and just plugging leaks. imo that has done more harm long term than a couple of 2-14 or 3-13 seasons would have done...but thats a long story.

Every year is a rebuilding year for every team. Don't know why that word has such taboo.

Rebuilding year? You serious? I will not accept this. Were not some terrible team like Buffalo with Chan Gailey as our coach.

I think this team is going to explode when Dez is healthy and Miles is back on the field. We should also have Felix close to 100%.

By then Romo is going to be feeling a lot better and the OL seems to be getting better every week.

If the OL can pass block that well against the Lions with our skill players at full strength we can hang 40 points on any team in the league.

Now we just have to sit back, remain patient and not lose our composure.

Because people equate rebuilding with being a poor team, even though that's not always the case.

Are the Packers the same exact team as last year? None of their draft choices made the team? They have the same coaches? I swear we signed one of them.

No?

Of course we are rebuilding.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm going to the Rams game in a few weeks and I fear it won't be pretty for St Louis.

Rebuilding year, we should be 4-0 right now, we have an easy schedule, and we are in a division where the favorite going in is 1-3, there is no rebuilding years in the nfl.

Not ready to throw in the towel just yet. We were up 27-3 on a team that was 3-0 at that point. We still have 2 good receivers hurt.

By what measure would you say our schedule has been easy?

AFC championship game losers on the road in NY on the 10th anniversary of 9/11?

That is followed up by two 3-1 teams and one 4-0 team.

That doesn't sound very easy to me.

Of course. An even better example would be the Patriots retooling their D last year and winning 14 games in the process.

We get four games against the worst division in football, two games at home against the bills and dolphins, four games against the very average giants and Commanders. And instead of having to play the packers, bears, saints, falcons, we get to play the lions and bucs.

btw those afc championship game losers look very average right now.

That is A very workable schedule.

The Pats are just a machine under Belichek and Brady. They will always be in contention.

I hope Garrett gets us into that position eventually. This short offseason plus all the injuries is what has really derailed us in this season of metamorphosis for us.

I think the defense is getting better but they have been hamstrung by injuries in the secondary. The offense is notable for its explosive WRs but we've had issues there. When you think about it, we had Miles and Dez healthy for all of one drive this season and we scored a TD easily against a very good defense. This offense as it is constructed cannot operate effectively without at least one of Miles or Dez out there to threaten the opposition. With both of them out there it forces Romo to play without a running game and without the threat of a big play. Everything has to be perfect and I think it forces Romo to press way too much and this has lead to all of the errors.

I think ultimately we hit our stride in the second half of the year. We can perhaps be even more successful than the Pats were last year by even having some success in the playoffs.

The Jets are the only decent team we've played, don't care what the records say. The Skins and Lions will fade - Dallas exposed them both for what they are.

This schedule is easy and made easier by the fact that the whole division sucks. I still think Dallas is the class of the East and I still don't think 11-5 is out of the question.

This is a team that keeps beating themselves. hopefully, they stop doing it. But they have the ability to make a serious run.

Who didn't know we are prone to collapse at any given moment?

This is indeed the right answer.

Every team could be better.

Should I list all 32 ?

There is no perfect team. And no, the Dolphins from 40 years ago were not perfect either.

Rebuild, regroup, address the future, the cap, the liabilities. etc.

Every year, every team.
