Cardinals and Saints

Chris Mortensen: Kurt Warner is great against the blitz. Saints are so much healthier, people dont understand how injured they were. I think that if the OL of Arizona is a tick slower, I think Kurt Warner is going to get hit more

Colts and Ravens

I think that the Colts will be proven right that they had young and old guys who needed rest. I picked the Ravens and Packers to get to the Super Bowl before the Season but I think the Colts will win

Cowboys/Vikings

Mike Greenberg: This is one of the most eagerly anticipated games in recent memory

Chris Mortensen: The Metrodome will be loud. It causes problems for opposing teams. I think the Vikings and their Defensive Line is better than what the Cowboys have faced. I think Adrian Peterson will have to have a big game but it seems like he hasn't had a big game in a long time.

Chargers/Jets

If the game is close at halftime, I like the Jets. I think Sanchez's confidence builds. Chargers have big receivers but if this is a close game at halftime, I think the Jets will win. Sanchez will be back in Southern California, so he should be settled down.

Noway the Jets beat the Chargers, this is not the sorry arse Bengals the Jets are playing this week.

I take it that Mortenson is picking the Vikes.

There is a possibility. The Chargers don't stop the run well and they don't run the ball well. If the Jets control the clock, it can spell curtains for Rivers and the Chargers.

Uh what?

Is this a game that if we win the coin toss, we defer to the second half? Let our defense get out there first while the crowd is really up.

NO! Take the ball and score early and often. Then unleash the defense on Favre.

I always like to root for a team when watching any game obviously, but Rex Ryan vs. Phil "the pill" Rivers: kinda like choosing between Hitler or Stalin. Can't stand the sight of either one of them.

BTW- didn't Ryan CRY earlier this year in a presser? He's about as big a nut as his old man IMO..............

agreed ..we need the ball and to score first to keep that crowd out of it

besides us the Jets are playing the best D in the playoffs and are running the ball well....I dont think they will beat them but ...it can happen

I think I like this approach better, but I really don't care as long as the final result is a W.

Don't think so. What I got out of that is that he wants the Minnesota Favres to win and was searching/reaching for a way he sees it happening.

Come on. This makes no sense.
Why play into the crowd? Why start on O with them at a fevor pitch?

Much better to KO off with the best KO specialist in football. After they start at the 20, our best defense in football can send them out after 3 plays.

The crowd noise will have no effect on those units.

Now we can take the field with perhaps good field position and a crowd that must be even a little subdued.

And then proceed to score first.

:starspin I think Mortenson has a fairly good take on the games, although I don't see the Jets pulling it out against the Chargers though.

Jets, Ravens, Dallas

I'd like the boys to meet NO again but Arizona has a good chance to win.

I agree.

Not to mention that opening the second half with a 7.5 minute drive that ends in a TD can really take away whatever wind is left in the sails of the Vikings.

Agreed -- I really respect what the Chargers can do but there are some matchup problems that favor the Jets. I'm very high on Vincent Jackson, think he's a top two or three receiver in the league fo' sho, but only when he's not up against Darrelle Revis.

That's the same way I feel. Crowd noise won't affect our defense, because if the crowd was loud, it would be more likely to cause a false start on their offense.

Plus I prefer having the ball at halftime.
