is Ray Sherman really that good as a receivers coach?....I know Miles grew in leaps and bounds but for every Miles there is a Roy out there who would seem to still be learning the high school game and basic fundamentals..if Jerry really wants to avoid the embarrasment of having to cut Roy maybe he should invest in a full time trainer who can coach Roy up and be the player we thought we were getting

Ray Sherman is an excellent WR coach seeing many of the guys he has worked with over the years and the success they have had leaves no doubt he is a very good coach. Having said that a coach can't play the game for you and he can't want it for you the player still has to do the job

Roy simply has no confidence in his game. It's not coaching or ability, It's confidence.

He felt the pressure, and with his poor performances this year lost all his confidence as a football player.

No coaching in the world will help him until he regains his confidence.

I watched the 1st game vs the Eagles this season again the other day and I noticed how Roy rounds out a lot of his routes. I see why Romo liked to throw to Miles and Witten so much and that reason is because they run there routes the same everytime. that means they're gonna be where Romo expects them to be everytime. Roy doesn't make sharp cuts he even rounds out his slant routes and because of this he's not in the place where he's supposed to be most of the time. that's why imo Romo missed Roy in every way possible like throwing behind him, to far in front of him, etc.

I agree. I think it falls to RW to get back to the basics, use this off season to rebuild himself as a WR. What I mean by that is working not only with Romo but spending times working with the Juggs machine, spending time learning the routes and working on refining his routes. He has a lot of physical talent and is very capable of being a big playmaker

RW sucks point blank period. He doesn't work hard and he's a bum. Jerry really messed up big time on RW.

...he has coached up some good talent.

As for Roy W. it would be interesting to run him through some ladder and cone drills to see what his feet were like. Typically you can find out a lot about foot speed and control in ladders and cones.

I would rather have Clyde Christensen. He ****s out great receivers.

It must be someone else

Sherman was WR coach for Houston during the Run and shoot years, he was with Atlanta, San Fran, Jets, Vikes Steelers,Packers and Tenn before coming to Dallas

I would rather have Clyde Christensen. He ****s out great receivers.

I really think Peyton made those guys. Of course Clyde had some impact, but he's their OC now, not receivers.

Let's not forget, he has coached a couple of HOF receivers.
