Are there any that we have a chance to get with straights lime a Andre johnson, Calvin johnson, or randy moss? Lambs really good but his traits aren't great. Johnson was 6'2 230 ran 4.41. Lamb has no elite trait. He's skinny with 45 speed. I want a receiver who can be a number one after his rookie deal is up.
This Draft has some difference makers at DT. It would not surprise me if we do not get one because JJ and his boys will probably draft a TE or WR.

They need to trade back a few spots and grab a DT. It is a deep enough position to trade back for an extra 3rd and grab one. That is the move.

Tolbert was a 3rd rounder. If it makes people feel better let’s go WR in the 2nd. Cooks was inexpensive and barely a number 2. If your looking to find a WR in free agency, look for one maybe coming off an injury looking to sign a 1 year “prove it“ deal.

Savion Williams TCU 6’4”. 225 let’s go for another WR round three . Lamb and Williams on the outside with Tolbert mostly in the slot give Dak some weapons . Now Re invent the TE position let Schoon & Spann Ford loose downfield .

Williams round 3 after 2 defensive choices rounds 1 & 2 if he’s not taken already .

I'm not opposed to that way of thinking but unless they actually address a couple of holes in free agency itll be same ol same ol either way. Thats the big issue is this team has more holes on the roster than they can fill via the draft. When it comes to the draft you really should put yourself in position to select BPA. I think just hitting on draft picks is way more important that targeting certain positions.
Nope. Using only one strategy to draft w/ doesn't work. Same as drafting strictly for need doesn't work. There's way way too much involved to just take a player willnilly w/o thoughts of team building, scheme, leadership, and a host of other factors.

Like Tolbert? I'd rather we go after a No. 2 in free agency. Of course, we know the Joneses won't pay what it takes. Probably the only shot we have if they trade a late-round pick for another receiver nearing the end of his career, like they did with Cooks. The Joneses appear to be OK with doing that.
Tolbert was a product of Jerry being horrific and player evalutions. His upside is severely limited due to lack of lateral agility and burst.

The funny thing is no matter if they sign a guy or draft a guy, at some point there will be tweets about receivers not getting separation

This was when we had 2 pro bowl receivers, Schultz and Gallup. People think they get it abd understand but they don't.

That tweet sounds just like the tweets posted this year. I wonder why

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but how do you improve on this separation? Is this a function of coaching or a function of the player?

It's clearly not player unless someone wants to convince me one of these mid rookies will be better than prime Cooper. Separation only matters when teams play man. The book is out to play zone against Dallas which makes the passing game more on Dak than the receiver. But most fans can't grasp that so they want more receivers.
