Well, I know were supposed to be happy with what we have but Jerry missed on not getting any young receivers because it takes two years to develop them. I believe Smith and a few other contributing receivers around the league are now in their second year and they are ballin right now. Some in the first year but able to be effective as the other receivers around them command so much respect. Austin is just ok and Hurd is still M.I.A., its two years later now and what do we have to show for it... next year will be anothe two years.

I hope and believe they may have, only problem is I still see the same two non producing receivers MA and SH getting playing time. Maybe Jason needs to give one of the a powder for a few weeks to see what Ogletree can do.

Jerry may have found his young WR in Ogletree.

:starspin I would like to think you're right...I "hope" you're right about Ogletree, but it looks as though we may have to wait a while before we get to see him in a regular season game situation.

And what would Kevin Ogletree do?

Hate on Sam Hurd all you want, he is ten times the special teams player Ogletree is. Hurd had 3 specials tackles in week one alone, the last time Ogletree had a specials tackle was high school.

And I guess you think Ogletree could've made the momentum turning 42 yard catch and run TD before halftime the way Miles Austin did?

Hurd and Austin are also both better run blockers, which is a very big deal.

Hurd and Austin only get limited chances as wideouts, it's the other things they also do better than Ogletree that causes them to be active while he sits.

Ogletree will get a chance at some point and I think he could be a nice option in the slot, but it's not like he's going to get a lot of looks with all the other weapons on the offense.

You brought up what some people fail to realize.Whoever you activate as your number 3 or 4 receivers have to be good special teams players as well.Ogletree is a player who will need some time to adjust/develop his overall game.

I don't hate Hurd or Austin, their production except on special teams is almost non-existent. I'm not referring to their special teams play. we need them to produce as receivers, get mad, sad or glad but Romo hasn't been getting very many options in passing situations and I don't know what Ogletree can or will do but I do know what Austin and Hurd will do and most of the time its run a route on third down and get ready for their special teams position on fourth. If their production is so minimal as a receiver why can't they see what Ogletree can do or at least make him active to put him in. I don't know who would be inactive for him to be active but my name isn't Wade or Jerry or Jason either that for them to decide. I'm just asking about the possibility.

Sorry thats give them a powder for a few games. (time off, inactive or just Otree a chance on passing downs instead of one of them).

Anyone in there place would be unlikely to get more looks than they do and wouldn't offer the other intangibles.

And it's rare that we will activate five wideouts for a game, but it has happened in the past and will occur again sooner or later.

I'm actually hoping Martellus Bennett settles into the passing game and starts making some plays there in addition to his outstanding run blocking.

It's time to light the fuse on M80.

Time to get Ogletree more Involved !!! We need crisper Routes and better hands to help with Consistency at Wide Receiver. I have no problems with Roy Williams as a Player but my opinion hes a clearcut #2 Wide Receiver not a #1 Receiver but in saying this I would love to see Ogletree starting opposite Roy.

I was so unimpressed with Crayton, Miles, Hurd, and even Roy not being able to get open against the Giant's secondary filled with backups. Tony Romo looked really frustrated with the WR's inability to get open probably leading him to make poor decisions and even poorer passes. Let's face it, the O-line gave Romo time to throw. Crayton dropped a perfect pass from Romo. Tony really praised Ogletree during the preseason showing confidence in him, and we all know Ogletree has talent. I say give the kid a chance to see if he can deliver against Carolina. He plays special teams too so Wade can keep 5 active Wrs for the game.

I think its time to activate the dude.He gets open,we need a very quick slot guy.Miles isnt the answer.

On tv its hard to tell if Wrs are getting open. I have heard a few comments by people at the game like Norm Hitzges and some on the Ticket saying that a lot of the time Romo had to check down cause they just werent getting open.Ogletree besides having great hands has a knack for getting open.He is the perfect slot guy.I think he could be a dependable WR for us with his speed as well.I want to see this guy play.

As the season unfolds and Austin and Hurd continue to prove that they are JAGS.. Besides a injury.. Do u see a scenario that Ogletree gets activated? Will it take Garrett or Romo stepping up and saying play this guy?

My prediction? 40-80 'Ogletree should start' threads created between now and January.

I think it boils down to special teams abilty,Hurd and Austin are reliable special teams players. This team relies upon Witten as a primary receiver followed by Williams,Crayton and Bennett as the other options not including the backs.Ogletree at this time is a project, now later in the season that may change.Especially if he shows something in practice to be considered somewhat reliable in his route running, downfield run blocking and not considered a liability in special teams.Point is he needs time to develop, just give it a little time.As far as activating him to be a receiving threat only, who do you set.Do you set the "bionic kicker" for Ogletree or do you set a linebacker only to run short of linebackers late in the game.At this time I don't believe Ogletree brings enough to the game to warrant sitting another player, the risk just outweighs the rewards at this time.

Ogletree had a great training camp and preseason, but its not his time yet. Ogletree will have an opportunity to show case his stuff next year.

Why isn't Olgetree active? He's a more reliable receiver than some of the other WR's out there.

Hurd is a better special teams player. Austin is the third wide out. They just can't dress six wides right now ... or ever. I'd like to see him play too but I don't see it happening soon.

Thankfully, Archer's feet are still planted terra firma.

People thought I was crazy when I said barring injury, Ogletree will not have five receptions this season. Has yet to be even active. I hope he is phenomenal. But he won't get the chance to really show anything til late in the season.

I didn't think your crazy.

I'd be surprised if Olgetree caught a pass this year, barring an injury to a WR.
