Let's just cut to the chase. Right now, 90% of the posts on this board are chicken littles lamenting our poor run play, our poor line play, our "average backs," our loss of Romo and Dez, and numerous other weak topics.

The bottom line is despite -3 turnover in game #1 and 18 penalties in game #2, despite not having our second best lineman, our two best pass rushers, our best wide receiver, our starting QB and our left guard - we are 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the division. We are 2 games up on what were considered our toughest division competition and 1 game up on what is considered a bottom 3-5 team.

We are 2-0 because of MENTAL TOUGHNESS and depth of talent.

So, let's cut through all the noise and talk about what will get this team to 9-0 (or close to it) when they will have all their missing players back.

This is NOT a thread for negative nancys. You have 4000 other threads to post in. This is a post for REALISTS. The kind of realists that understand you can overcome adversity. Not the pseudo self proclaimed realists who don't know anything about personal adversity or how to overcome it.

So with that said, what does Dallas need to do to win the next 7 games?

1. Commit no turnovers
2. Create turnovers and defensive scores
3. Win special teams
4. Ball control with running game to set up pass
5. Pressure QB and swarm to the ball to stop rushing game.
6. Bring the physicality to opponent.
7. Play with more passion than opponent.

Atlanta, New Orleans (w/o Brees), New England, New York Giants, Seattle, Philly, Tampa Bay

There is not A SINGLE team on this list that we won't beat if we do 1-7.

Right now, this team is as mentally tough or tougher than any team on this schedule.

So you can worry - if you are a sheeple and are into that kind of thing. Me, I'll wait and see if we accomplish 1-7 as I mark off the games we keep "somehow" winning.

Are you kidding? We have no chance against the Pats without Romo and Dez, Seattle will be tough too.

The streak continues. No one that talks about being a realist is ever that. This team wasnt going 9-0 if fully healthy.

I totally agree. Realist in this thread is in the context of mental toughness, discipline and sound play can get victories despite deficiencies. That is very real. It is a reality of life.

Notice I didn't say we would do it, only that we could do it. Life is nothing if not a realization of possibilities.

There is a reason games are played and not calculated on paper.

This team, even minus it's star players, can win football games.

Some will be damn difficult though. I don't expect this team to beat Seattle or New England in its current state, but I would obviously welcome wins against those teams with open arms.

This defense is going to have to play unbelievable football to keep us in a few of these games.

I am as big a homer as you'll ever see (see my title under my username), but the fact is that we're down several of our best players in Romo, Dez, Hardy, and Scandrick, and it will be tough sledding.

I'd take 4 wins in our next 7 games a very successful stretch, considering what we're missing.

Great post. Offensively we are very similar to those Ravens in the early Flacco years. Our QB can make the underneath throws and the occasional longer toss. Our running backs are OK, but our OL is very good. So, can our defense be as opportunistic? Our defense has allowed 19 points in 2 games (7 points in late game prevent) against two offenses that were top TEN last year. If they continue this perfomance and we win the turnover battle, this should be a W.

If we are 7-2 after nine games, I'll be happy. I just hope the players will not be satisfied with that. I want guys that if offered that would say no, and fight to win all 9.

7-2 would be amazing. I'll take 5-4 as a resounding success.

I think people underestimate how good our defense is. Sean Lee is playing like the best LB in the game right now. And Hitchens is ball'n. When we get Ro back, I'm not even sure how much of a difference he will make, but if he does upgrade us, then we will be that much scarier. Meanwhile Patmon has been playing as good if not better than Scandrick did. Beside him on one side Claiborne has pretty much not even been targeted due to his coverage while Byron Jones is shutting down TEs left and right.

Our pass rush has been average, but Gregory may return this week. If our defense can hold team to 14 points or less, its going to give us lots of opportunities for victories.

Novice response. My post is about mental toughness. While fans like you mostly don't have it, I believe the team does.

I hear you windy, and have given similar pregame speeches.

Perhaps this point of view would best be suited for the team, which is eliminating all negative thoughts before going into battle.

It won't match the analytical depth and football IQ of us geniuses in the CZ.
