So I'll be embarking on a lengthy road trip in the next month or so and would like to listen to my mp3's and podcasts.

I'm aware of a couple of car kits like belkin and griffin that interface with the ac source and transmit via radio frequency (kenneth) to the radio. Cost is ~$95.00

Not sure this would exactly yield superb sound, but would like to hear your experiences and recommendations, if any. Thanks.

If you're in a rush, and your car happens to have a tape deck still, just get one of those tape-deck things with the cord and plug it directly into your MP3 player. That's way better than FM radio transmission on long trips - with the FM transmitters, you end up having to redo the channel every 100 miles.

I didn't consider the changing radio frequency..good pt. No, unfortunately, I have no tape deck but I'm not in a rush so maybe I can find a suitable method. Maybe I'll talk to those stereo installer geeks at Fry's/BB.

Thanks for the input.

We have a TransPod that works with both my husband's video iPod and my iPhone—we both like it. It has adjustable options depending on where your lighter jack(s) are placed in the car, and is pretty sturdy once you've got it set. FM transmitter, while not as good as cassette adapter, works well.

It's listed at $79.99 on their site, so you can probably find it even a little cheaper online.

Thanks for the tip- reviews look positive and found it for 59.99. I'll likely go ahead and get it.
