Somebody in here said yesterday they are poison for each other. A gunslingin, risk takin', Brett Favre Lite QB who will NOT give up on a play. Won't throw it out of bounds, won't throw it at a receiver's feet, won't take a sack, just simply will NOT and can NOT give up on a play. Man, that's Favre QB'ing 101... Holmgren and others worked for YEARS to reel that hillbilly in...but never really succeeded if you think about it. That guy should have won 2 more super bowls than he did, but just wouldn't tone it down.

At this point, IMHO the ball is in Jason Garrett's court, NOT Tony's. If yesterday didn't convince him to go more conservative, shorter passes, (which were working fabulously in the first half BTW) more runs, more conservative calls overall then nothing will. Sure it's a passing league right now, but up 27-3 on FIRST down? I'll guarantee Red didn't sleep a wink last night, nor should he have as he shares blame for this debacle. C'mon Red....your the Princeton grad, not us. STOP being such a slow learner and reel this guy in. If he does we'll go 10-6 and make the playoffs. If not...looking at 7 or 8 wins and agony like the Jets and Lions losses. Rant over;)

Sorry I disagree I don't want this team going into a shell. I expect better execution but you can't play scared. There was nothing Garrett was calling in that game I would change I do expect players to execute.

....but in THAT situation yesterday: up by 24 friggin' pts....run....dink a pass here.....dunk a screen there......and work on your short game...and then punt. Rinse and repeat....stop slinging it 25 yards downfield, it's just not necessary: as we painfully saw.

False, because Romo threw the ball away and threw it at a receivers/RBs feet multiple times yesterday.

Eric Mangini also was on Mike & Mike, gave the Lions credit for making great plays on what he says were great reads by Romo. For what its worth.

I don't care. You have an opinion fine but allow others to have them as well. Garrett did not cost us anything we failed to execute and going into a shell being afraid to go out and make plays in my mind is ridicules. We were not just slinging it we still ran the ball and we still passed. You may think 3 runs and punt is the way to go I don't.

Not sure what Mangini was watching but there's no way he can prove to me that the 1st and 3rd INTs were great reads by Romo. The 2nd INT is one where i felt the DB made a great play more than Romo making a bad one. But not the 1st and 3rd.

I can't believe how few people are willing to consider that Romo is not being coached and trained well. Is a ton of it Romo's fault? Sure. Of course it is. He should know better than to throw those balls. But the coach should also know his QB is prone to these kinds of episodes, and the one thing you can not do in that situation is give them scores on defense. Protecting against that eventuality should've been the number one priority, not "staying aggressive" or any of the other cliches that sound great when spoken into a microphone.

This is why some of us wanted a new voice in here, someone who has been around the block, groomed QBs before, looked over a group of players -- most importantly the QB -- and made a sound decision on what they he handle and couldn't, how he needed to be approached personally, and what kind of structure to put around him. It's exactly what is happening on defense right now. Wade was and is a good DC, but sometimes a group of players go stale and just need a new voice.

Of course the guy has to have some skins on the wall and not be an OJT coach.

I just can't believe that Romo would do these things if Norv or Kubiak or several other veteran OCs were training him. I *still* wish we had more of a running game to take some pressure off him, but I guess that just isn't going to happen. Look at Eli... There's no way he's as good as Romo, but he isn't asked to carry the team every single week, either. That's only smart coaching.

Now the sad truth is that Romo, our whole franchise, is teetering on the brink. This is the low point in his entire career here and if we aren't careful, we're going to lose him and be starting over from scratch again. I for one don't want to go back to the Quincy-Hutch-Vinny-Bledsoe days. :(

I had more of a problem with the first and second INT. I mean on the second INT the CB did make a really good play but there really wasn't much space and Romo still tried to force it in. On the third interception it was just a horrible underthrow. Witten was coming open so it was the right read, he just needed to throw it deeper.

if we are going to dink and donk it down the field that increases the chances of a mistake.

Fantastic post Clab! I've been thinking about this all morning. Why does Garrett and Wade Wilson get a pass on this deal? They are his coaches and have been with him for years. Why can't they coach this out of him, and if not coach it out of him at least reel him in a little?

Romo isn't going anywhere. It's Garrett and Wilson's job to fix this thing. We go as Romo goes, and if you can't fix #9 we will keep seeing these up and down games. There is NO doubt in my mind that Romo is the one, but even the great one's need to be coached. Now go coach!
