It was the Russians(Soviet Union) that invaded. That is where the Red came from. In the original China was an ally.

One of my all-time favorites, looking forward to this one, saw the previews last night when we went to see "the Watch". Horrible movie BTW, do not waste your time.

O man, I was a kid when this came out, I wore out the VHS rental tape of this because I rented and watched it so much in the 80's.

It is total BS, but hollywood wants to make a buck in China, and we wouldnt want to anger China.

It doesnt look half bad, i'm sure i'll see it. Its not exactly like the first one was all that realistic either.

I just dont understand the China invading stuff by a couple folks. There was only one mention of China in the whole movie, and that was them getting nuked.

This movie was originally slated to involve China as the "baddie" but after MGM went under no other movie company would take it since China would not allow it to be showed in that country. Missing out on a lot of yen. So they changed the "baddie" to North Korea and got a backer.
