Has he matured within his position? One year later, is he ready to place himself among the elite OCs out there? Has he outgrown his propensity to over-think himself and let his stubborn side trump a more logical side? We will need an improved Red in order to realize our potential and get to the promise land again.

Paper champs are easily forgotten.

Is Red ready to take his cerebral game to the next level? Please discuss.

PS... LT is a stone idiot.

Don't know. He's very intelligent, but he does some very stupid things. Taking Felix out of games last year when he was lighting it up and replacing him with the lead-footed Barber was insane. He did the same with Choice. He'll call the dumbest plays in situations. I don't understand him sometimes.

I hope he's learned from his mistakes.

funny thing about "dumb plays" is that if executed correctly and they work ...then he is a genius if they dont...well we get threads like this one

Most of the time they didn't work.

he tends to over think, he is that guy who keeps trying to bluff a newbie poker player... sometimes defenses are to stupid to be tricked.

Too early to call him one way or other. What do we have two full seasons? I take some growing pains from a rookie and see where it goes.

Timing is everything and like Norv, he has at his disposal an above average group of talent in place and if he can't make a go with this group then I'd have to say he's not all that. I think he can do it though.

no, ...most of the time his plays do work.....its just the ones that executed poorly and dont work that get focused on.....i mean i agree some of his calls are questionable and i think in most NFL cities fans say the same about their own coaches ..its the nature of fans to think someone is stupid for not thinking the same way they do...but the teams offensive production during his tenor is undeniable

We were 2nd in the league in yardage for an offense last year but were 19th in scoring offense.
Dez Bryant will make us a more potent offense in the RED zone.-no pun intended.
I think the Cowboys looked at our scoring offense and our kickoff return yardage and getting Dez became a no-brainer.
You can't double everyone and somebody will be open between Austin,Witten and Bryant.
Red's job will be to get Bryant comfortable quick and from then on we are gonna be good on offense.

He was so predictable at times last year and finally when we played the Saints we looked like a completely different offense.

We can find a lot of coaches to call plays like he did Pre-Saints.

Post Saints he was on another level.

they are 27th vs the run...

we are a top 10 rushing team...

but they are expecting the run!!!

Gameplan: Heavy Pass

i also tend to get down on Red, but i try to tell myself, we have had a top offense every year he has been here, so i think he might be suffering from a little bit of Romo-idis... in that some of us just don't know how great we have it..

All I need to know is that there about 100 fewer "get rid of Red" threads so far this offseason. I'd say there was improvement over 2008.

Not a bad analogy at all.

Sometimes this game is very simple... Especially when you have great talent.

I didn't say most of his plays didn't work.

He tends to call dumb plays, quit doing things that are working, and/or keep doing things that aren't working.

He can come up with some very good playcalls, and I like some of the tricks he has - like having Tony Romo fake like he's going to pass and then hand the ball off.

When it comes to Garrett, I keep my fingers crossed and bite my tongue when I can.

Nice analogy.

That's about where I am today.

I love Jason's work. He shows alot of balls in his play calling, who would call two back to back passes to a wr/te in the endzone from 2 yards out? Sadly it was the wrong WR/TE (Williams & Bennett)

No he hasnt till we see it on the field not on espn or this message board . He hasnt been elite since Sparano left thats fact
