When it comes to red wine most enthusiasts have a taste, a dollar amount they spend, a certain vintage (Year produced,) favorite winery, region, country, etc etc.

I've had a twenty dollar cab that was aged so perfectly it rivaled a few $100 bottles out there.

Anyways list some decent wine with price included both affordable and expensive or anywhere in between.

Chateau St Michele Indian Wells Cabernet varies from $15-$25 depending on where you buy it. Its from the Seattle area. Decent for the money.

Rodney Strongs Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, same price range. Hints of cherry and pomegranate, not bad.

Amancaya Grand Reserve Malbec from Argentina, about $25. Nice bottle.

Taking it up a notch, Titus Cabernet from Napa Valley, 2012 Vintage. Goes for about $85-$90 a bottle. So worth it..

So many names escape me but I'm thinking of a California Cab that goes for about $65 a bottle that has a nice black peppery finish to it.

Got any recommendations?

I agree on the Chateau St. Michelle -- very good value.
Another is Alexander Valley Cab, 2014, approx $25 -- great buy.

I'm a fan of full-bodied reds; a big-*** cab from Napa (like Titus) with oak and /or cedar really floats my boat.
Took the obligatory trip out there a couple of years ago, and was not disappointed; would go every fall during harvest if I could afford it.
Sonoma is nearby also. Sattui Vineyards was my favorite; they have several mid range cabs ($40-$50) that are terrific. Like many of the wineries, you have to order from them -- can't buy the stuff anywhere else.

As for Texas wines, you can't beat William-Chris, located in Hye, about 25 miles east of Fredricksburg.
Most folks I serve their product to say it's the best Texas wine ever.
They have a couple of cabs, a tempranillo, and a mourvedre that are tops; all at $40-$50. The owners and staff are very entertaining and personable.

V. Sattui is always the first on my list to hit before we run the circle :) They have a basil-prosciutto sandwich which is excellent! Also, a lot of different cheeses.

Opus is probably my favorite vineyard along with Sterling because of the gondola ride up. Our last trip cost us about $1700 in an assortment of wines :muttley:

Yeah, the gondola really sets the tone.

Opus wines are reliably great; some of the best cabs I've had, with $$$ worth the experience.

I'm not a fan of wine but my wife likes it and has to sample hundreds because she is a sales rep for a wine and spirits distributor here in Arizona. The first wine that came to mind when I mentioned good value reds to her was Chateau St. Jeans Sonoma Cab.

Like I said, I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't personally vouch for anything but it's pretty safe to say that she kinda knows her stuff (at least the products in her portfolio).

I got drunk on red wine(I was told it was expensive, but I'm no expert) once in my life and for the love of God I don't get why people like it. Worst tasting crap I ever drank, and worse the biggest hangover ever.
