Marinelli has a good scheme for the RZ (when not talent depleted). Proud of the effort over the past two years of how his players respond to compressed area situations. The Titans went 80 yards in 45 seconds and came up with nada. Nice play coverage recognition on all 4 calls, and decent pressure. Decent vs Niners too except when at goalline (you have to key Gore first at 2 yd line, leaving play action wide open). Other than the line break on Hyde's touchdown last week, we've looked very sound.

So far this defense certainly hasn't looked like the "worst ever" that some were predicting and expecting.

Not saying they're world beaters out there but they pitched a shutout in the 1st half and did what they needed to in the 2nd. Worst Evers don't do that.

Play of the game if you ask me. Ten at the 6 looking to score in the 4th trailing 26-10. Looks like Locker gots Washington for a TD, Carr gets his hands on the ball and knocks it out incomplete.

Yes great play by Carr, he kept fighting right through the play. Many players may have given up on it, once the ball was in the receivers hands.

1st and goal at the 6 and not another yard gained, very encouraging.

We seem to be contesting passes more than previous years. Also not as manyyyy busted plays so far. However, we need to get more pressure on the opposing qb. But overall they are showing more than most of us (myself included) though that they would.

'Bout time one of the 2 C's made a game changing play. Between that play and RoMc's INT .... those were incredible.

the defense looks much better than last year. but we had some decent games early last year too so time will tell. i think the biggest help this is is our depth is somewhat better and we have more guys coming to help

True with older guys and limited rotation and guys coming and going that had no camp at all with the Cowboys. I could not see how this defense could not improve from signing guys on Monday and playing the following Sunday. Guys need to be able to work as one unit and you can't do that with guys coming and going week to week.

4 pass plays from 6 yard line while they were averaging 6 YPC running in the game.

If Garrett called that sequence of plays it would be torches and pitchforks.

Not taking anything away from the D, just pointing it out...
