That list right there just shows you why we are so pathetic in the red zone. With Dak and Zeke, we should actually be much better in the redzone. Play calling definitely hurts us there.

True, and also the reason why Zeke only has 6 rushing TD, and why we're 25th in scoring.

We don't have Dez but we have Dez-Lite. I been saying Noah Brown is the perfect candidate for the red zone. He's a big body target that can catch and block.

Defenses probably will think he's in there to block because that's what he usually does on a run play. Sneak him out and throw to him once in awhile.

I'll take Cooper and Gallup over Dez and Williams.

Run Zeke more. Run Dak more. Target Beasley more.

Swaim and Jarwin are pretty good targets. I really think Jarwin could come up big down the stretch.

IMO, Dak desperately needs a functional TE with 5/+ targets a game - next man up makes more sense than the scheme changes

With Dak as QB, I'll take Cooper and Gallup over Dez and Williams. The first two guys get some separation, the second two don't.

Jarwin gives very little blocking, so he's just a big, slow WR.

Swaim is a competent blocking/receiving TE. A guy you're happy to have as a backup, but looking to upgrade as a starter.

Swaim going down hurt. With Swaim on the field, he's the 5th target after a number of pretty good ones in Zeke, Cooper, Gallup, and Beasley. A blocker who is competent as a receiver.

Upgrading TE should be a high priority next season. We carried 3 developmental TEs who haven't done diddley this year. Move on.

Witten was never a big red zone threat.

Red Zone success isn't just measured in touchdowns. A play is considered successful if it gains 40% of the yards needed on 1st down, 60% on 2nd down, and 100% on 3rd/4th down. In the last two seasons prior to this one, the most productive red zone receivers were Witten, Dez, and Beasley. With two-thirds of that production gone, defenses can now focus on Beasley and stopping the run.

Witten and Dez accounted for more than half of Dallas' successful red zone pass plays in 2016-17.

This season, the Cowboys TD/FG ratio is about even (1.04). That ranks 29th in the league, after ranking in the Top 10 each of the previous two seasons, and that's all because of OL issues and losing Witten and Bryant.
