Just curious. Mediation is going on between the two sides. And to get a deal done (new CBA), doesn't the NFLPA have to re-certify for this to happen? And 24 of the 32 owners have to agree with the new CBA?

Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Not certain about the exact number of owners for a majority vote, but you're correct that the NFLPA* would first need to recertify to agree with any new collective bargaining agreement.

My understanding is that the current mediation is being done as part of settlement talks for the lawsuit. Once they come to an agreement - that is if they do - then they can draw the new deal up and the case is settled out of court. At htat point the union re-certifies, signs the deal with the owners and everyone goes off on their merry way.

So, we can only take the re-certification of the union as a sign that a new CBA is about to be in place, right? Please happen, SOON.
