NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints have confirmed that running back Reggie Bush had surgery on his left knee, and will require months of rehabilitation.

Bush

However, Bush is expected to be ready for minicamp in June. Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Bush had a microfracture procedure performed on his left knee after he was placed on injured reserve in mid-December, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Saints coach Sean Payton had indicated last week that Bush underwent an arthroscopic procedure performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.
Loomis said the surgery was not a "major" procedure, according to the report. "I wouldn't want to call it minor, because he's got a pretty significant period of rehab time," Loomis told the Times-Picayune. "But at the end of it, he shouldn't have any issues."

Bush has had repeated problems with his left knee the past two seasons. He was placed on injured reserve after the latest injury in the Dec. 11 game against Chicago. Bush's injury initially was reported as a sprained medial collateral ligament, which doesn't usually require surgery. But the team confirmed Wednesday that he had surgery. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

IM sure he will be back, but he wont ever be the same imho.

I really wouldnt call Reggie a bust at this point but the hype he was getting coming out of college was amazing. If any other team was in the Houston spot and picked anybody other than Reggie, the entire fanbase at the time would had been very upset, including ours. Reggie was a prime example of a NFL player playing in college football. He was that good. When he came to the NFL he couldnt outrun everybody. The players he was playing against in college, well, they matured and caught up to him. He still might be faster than them but the team concept can negate any fast player.

Why does the title ask if he done and then the article that's posted say he's expected to be ready to go in June?

Why wouldnt he be the same, dont players have knee surgeries all the time???

I am not familiar with microfracture, is that a special type of scope procedure???

Again, why would he be the same, players have scopes done all the time.

sometimes microfracture does not work. If it does not then his knee will be less then what he had before.
He is a BUST compared to what was predicted for him.
He has been a solid contributor with occasional brilliant plays.
He has CERTAINLY NOT BEEN ALL WORLD as many USC homers had claimed he would be.

Doesnt sound good from that description.

I agree that Reggie Bush has not lived up to being the #2 overall pick. Houston sure looks smart right now, even though most people though they were idiots at the time. (myself included, I thought Reggie would be all-world).

Houston is looking real smart on skipping Bush and Vince both those guys are nothing special. Mario has but up better overall results and is getting better.

Vince has come apart at the seams

Bush is been as everyone said good and he is a better wr than rb

I still like Bush and his potential but I do think, at least to this point, they clearly gave up to high a draft pick for a guy who looks like he's more of a specialty player/luxury player than a guy you can build around.
