IRVING, Texas -- Reggie Herring will interview with Houston after all, according to two sources.

The Cowboys initially denied permission to the Texans when they made the request but the meeting is expected to take place Tuesday. If Herring accepts a job with Houston he would be reunited with ex-Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, who was named the Texans coordinator earlier this month. It would also be his second tour with Houston. He was the Texans' linebackers coach from 2002-03 under Dom Capers.

Yeah...if they denied him then but are letting him go interview now...that would indicate that Rob has some people he wants to bring in.

And Ryan bringing his own people in is a good thing. The 2010 defense was a disaster, and the players were basically the same as 2009, except for Hamlin.

Looks like the Broncos have given Martindale the go ahead and start looking for another job, even though he's signed until 2012. Fully expect him to be announced shortly.

I'll be happier when Campo is gone. He's clueless and doesn't demand improvement by the players.

Martindale would take step down from DC to LB coach? was he being fired or something?

I expected that once a DC was named reggie herring would be given permission to interview. They just wanted to make sure that the new DC wouldn't want to keep him.

It's pretty rare for a team to refuse to let a position coach interview with another team.

Wink Martindale as our LB's coach. Maybe they can bring in Pat Sajack as DL coach and Bob Barker to coach the DL.

Rob Ryan sets changes in motion on Cowboys defensive staff

Rob Ryan hasn't officially taken charge of the Cowboys defense yet, but his impending hire has already put changes in motion.

Linebackers coach Reggie Herring has now been granted permission to speak to the Houston Texans.

Chuck Woolery is the DL coach, Pat Sajak is slated for DBs.
