Reggie Wayne not being resigned

Only way wayne won't retire is if you make him an offer that is just plan stupid. IIRC he said he would only play for the colts.

Bears & Indy cleaning out the WR cupboard so
Jerry better hurry up and lock up Dez...
He's going to be a no brainer for some team!

We know running backs are devalued.

I think we're starting to see the same thing with receivers.

The rules make average guys productive, and star receivers unnecessary.

See Seattle and New England.

Before anyone says no. Think about this for a second. Dez, Wayne, Williams, Bease. A veteran receiver like wayne who has been there and been in this league this long, i think would be great for the young guys. Leadership and everything. Plus hes a great option for romo as another security blanket. If the price is right? Thoughts?

No. Wayne needs to retire. He really has nothing left.

If he is replacing Harris, he has to play special teams. Which I'm sure he doesn't. And the coaches want to see what Devin Street has. Wayne would be 5th receiver at best.

Where on this team is there room for a 36 yr old WR???? That wouldnt even work on Madden.

He's had a great career. I don't think the guy has anything left to prove. I think he should probably hang the cleats up.

I loved watching Wayne play, but that was 4 years ago.

He's still been productive and part of me wonders how much of that dip was just a product of playing with a new young QB learning to play in the league. I doubt it would have occurred like it did with Manning.

He caught 106 balls for 1,355 yards in Luck's first year, so I think that dip is definitely more post-ACL at age 36 than it is due to a dropoff in QB. I don't think we're missing out on the next Jerry Rice if we don't let TWill or Street develop, but I don't think Wayne offers much in terms of an upside replacement.
