Regular refs could return for Giants game

The regular refs aren't much better. Remember last year against the Jets, when they had ZERO penalties the entire game? Yeah, let's bring back those awesome officials.

Even if they work it out before Wednesday, I doubt they'll be there for week 1. The league has already informed all of the teams that the replacements will be working next week.

Which means nothing. Nothing etched in stone. The teams would gladly welcome back the regular refs.

After that debacle in the Pats/Giants game last night, I would welcome the regular refs with open arms!

A Giants fan complaining about the refs:rolleyes:

you guys never get called for offensive holding.

plus, you guys bend the rules, like faking injuries and purposely having 12 men on the field.......that shady exec Mara has rubbed off on the entire organization.

I saw that on Sportscenter last night and started laughing...until I realized that could happen again on September 5.

:bang2:

Before we go on about Refs costing teams games or making the playoffs remember the current officials gave the Steelers a SB with that BS push off call on Seattle

Exactly. They are just going to make calls in the Giants favor like they always do. For example: Not calling obvious holding on the Giants offensive line, not calling intentional grounding by Eli, and calling offsides on Ware every time he gets off the line quick.

The teams might. But Goodell hasn't been known as someone who informs teams of a decision and then reverses his position, and unless it's a part of the bargaining to get the real refs back to work, I doubt very seriously if he'll do so in this instance.

I'm all for it, mind you. But don't see it happening.

............COMPLETELY outplayed them but the zebras kept them in it....and then they won it.....farce really.

We need them back, and this is long overdue. However, even with them back, there will be some blown calls. The preseason isn't just to prepare the players. It's also to prepare the refs. Get ready for some rusty refs. They will get up to speed though. I'd rather have them than the replacements.

I honestly told someone the replacement refs couldn't be any worse...boy was I wrong. I'd welcome the old refs back. Even if they're not perfect....they are compared to the fill in refs.

The choice between the replacement refs and the regular refs is like choosing between having a cinder block dropped on your foot and a piano dropped on your head. You really hate to drop the cider block on your foot but it beats the alternative.
