This Cowboys team has beaten the teams it is supposed to beat and lost to the teams it is supposed to lose to.

Losses to 6 win and undefeated at home Seattle.
to 7 win Chicago
to 8 win BMore
to 9 win ATL
to 6 win Giants

So not a single loss to a team .500 or under. ZERO, NONE, ZILCH.

Wins versus:
6 win Giants
6 win Bucs
2 win Carolina ((((we did not play a single team that is at or below .500 right now until week 7 of this season))))
3 win Philly
2 win CLE

So not a single win to a team better than 6-4.

That is about as clear a picture as you can have painted for you of where this team is.

Are you kidding me? Why are you saying something positive? You know who you're amongst right?

Wouldn't be nice to be able to compete with teams with a winning record?

What is JG's record against +.500 teams?

So what is this post saying?

That this is an average. mediocre team?

Not even sure this qualifies as positive but yes I get the point.

This team is mediocre and beats bad teams but loses to good ones.
At this point I think that rankles our "fans" the most.
That we somehow win and keep their dreams and hopes of new coaches and GMs at bay. As if those deluded dreams were ever gonna come true anyway.

There are 31 other teams to follow. Not sure why they feel the need to stick to this one if they hate everything about the team.

how many of those teams with sub .500 records will we play in the playoffs should we make it?

That the team is making progress and no longer losing to teams we should beat like years prior. I know that's difficult for your group to understand since you're too busy caught up in all of your whining. It's very simple though, really. CZ might have to start providing tutors.

none.
but we might play some of those 6-4 win variety.
against 6 win teams we are currently 2-2. that would make a wild card game a toss up.

anyone think we were getting more than one playoff win this year?
this is certainly not an elite team.

Should we panic now?

Great post. We're playing how we're supposed to be playing.

People need to get some perspective. We're not going to the super bowl. But we're not the worst team in the league.

We're middle of the pack and deserve to be, as well. We've got some good players but some very serious weaknesses.

If we over-achieve and make the playoffs, why is that a bad thing? I'd rather my team over-achieve like that then lose out and get a high draft pick.

It's the WAY Dallas plays....... Or whatever one would call the Sunday displays.

We could've/should've beaten most those teams except we found ways to lose. Found ways to lose. Been doing it very well for several years.

Had a shot with a bye and home field advantage and found a way to lose. Stupid, drive killing penalties. Drops. Shortened routes.

Better than average athletically. Straight up. Hands down, zero argument, IMO.

Dumber than most mentally. Consistently.

CULTURE.

only if you put a lot of money on them winning 12 games or a Super Bowl.

this team has one of the worst injury situations in football and is quite mediocre in their game day roster. for them to win more than one playoff game they would almost certainly need incredible health luck the rest of the year.

but if the bar is higher than 1 playoff win i'd suggest mental health evaluations.

The Giants lost 5 games within a 6 game span last year before going on to win the Super Bowl. The challenge starts with making it to the playoffs.

6 games left, we need to win at least 4 games.

Not being satisfied with 5-5 and an overtime win against one of the worst teams in the league is now labeled as 'whining'?

The kool-aid drinkers have now reached a new low.

And it's now called 'progress'?!?!?

The depths some will go to to try to shine this turd.

Maybe.

Kevin Bacon might be a good hire?

do you analyze your own personal flaws this harshly?

do you live in reality? which team did dallas lose to this year that is just untenable?

this isn't the olympics. there is no 10 point scale, just wins and losses.

I think the frustration stems from the fact that we gave a way baltimore, and the giants game, and the carolina and cleveland game were too close for comfort.

The team can be nerve wrecking.

this team is just good enough to break your heart.
no doubt about that.

but sitting on the edge of your seat then getting the win at the end of the game is what the NFL is about. all the rules of the game are to create intense parity.

ATL and HOU were getting their socks blown off yesterday by terrible teams but found ways to win at the very end. Should they also apologize?

I will say this for Cleveland while they have lost a lot of games they have played most of those teams very tight it is not as if they are getting rolled over by opposing teams.

Having said that Dallas has to play better than they have, they show very good signs as they did in the 2nd half of the game but I agree aginst a top notch team you can't afford to fall behind and try to play catch up.

I don't consider my view as drinking kool-aid. I have not claimed this team as a SB contender only a team that is still in the hunt and a team that has the ability but must come out of the gates quicker.

As I recall NY was not looking like a SB team at this stage last year but things changed.

I don't know if this team can or can't and really not concerned with games in Jan right now I'm only concerned with the games we are about to play. At the end of the year we will count up the wins and loses and see if that was good enough to make it to post season.
